Survivor pools have become one of the most popular gambling options for NFL fans in recent years. Big brands like DraftKings and Circa are among those offering monster prizes in 2021. The NFL is more unpredictable than ever as this past weekend set a new parity bar. Jacksonville’s 9-6 upset of the Bills undoubtedly sits atop the list of surprises, but the Broncos nearly shutting out the Cowboys before two late garbage-time Dallas touchdowns and the Browns thumping the Bengals by 25 points on the road certainly qualify as runner-up candidates.

The Week 10 slate kicks off with a Ravens versus Dolphins clash in South Florida on Thursday night. Other notable matchups on the docket Sunday include Falcons versus Cowboys, Browns versus Patriots, Saints versus Titans and Vikings versus Chargers. There is also a Packers versus Seahawks faceoff in Green Bay that could mark the returns of both Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson to action and a Chiefs versus Raiders divisional battle in desert.

November often separates the haves and have-nots in the NFL. The first November Sunday in the league features a bevy of exciting matchups including the Browns versus Bengals, the Vikings versus Ravens, the Packers versus Chiefs, the Cardinals versus 49ers and the Titans versus Rams.

There were bound to be a couple of quirky outcomes on a Week 8 slate that encompassed Halloween, especially in a season that’s already proven to be plenty unpredictable. Sure enough, it was a nightmarish afternoon for the likes of the Bengals as Cincy was shockingly upset by not just the Jets, but a Jets squad featuring a rookie backup quarterback. Carson Wentz and the Colts will likely have a sleepless night or two as well after blowing an early 14-0 lead to the Titans. Indy essentially set itself up for a late collapse with a couple of ill-timed interceptions.

The Week 9 ledger will kick off with Indianapolis getting a quick chance at redemption on Thursday night, albeit against that same Gang Green squad that left Cincinnati reeling.

Here are NFL Week 8 odds along with game breakdowns with a football betting perspective.

The eighth Sunday of the pro football schedule falls on Halloween and sportsbooks have given bettors a treat with NFL Week 8 odds already having been posted. A fabulous NFC game kicks off the week as the Packers will play at the Cardinals. Other key matchups include the Steelers versus the Browns, the Titans versus the Colts, the Patriots versus the Chargers, the Buccaneers versus the Saints and the Cowboys versus the Vikings.

A few teams experienced nightmarish performances and/or endings seven days ahead of the haunted holiday. The most alarming outcome was arguably the Chiefs 27-3 loss to Tennessee, in a game that saw Patrick Mahomes get knocked out of the game with a head injury late. Tennessee notched a second victory over an AFC powerhouse in a span of six days.

The Ravens weren’t left in much better shape than the Chiefs as Baltimore suffered a lopsided 41-17 home loss to the Bengals. Miami somehow found a way to blow yet another late lead and fell to 1-6 with a 30-28 home loss to the Falcons. In the late window, the Rams got quite the scare from the Lions in Jared Goff’s return to LA before emerging with a 28-19 win.
