On this episode I talk about a trend in our local lingerie manufacturing industry. It is a clarion call to local manufacturers of lingerie especially panties to raise the standards and produce with  some level of finesse.

This is Amoke’s list of panties designs a girl should have. By girl, I mean an adult female. Having undies in variety of designs is quite necessary because each has its purpose. Some are for that special period of the month when the flow comes. A few suits the sporty days when you have to exercise or actually hit the gym. There are those suitable for that snug pretty dinner wear that you have in your wardrobe.

It is also nice to have a variety in your wardrobe so that your wardrobe is less boring. So, you see it is essential to have a variety.

Bikini

The bikini type of panties are low rise cut with waistband just below the waist and has high cut leg hole. They are closely similar to the brief. Bikinis are usually designed with same comfortable materials as briefs such as cotton, microfibre and nylon.

Next on the list is the briefs.

Briefs, which are sometimes called ‘Granny Panties’ – pardon me, I do not know who made that appellation of the briefs popular but anyways they are called ‘Granny Panties’ Briefs are a type of panties which provides lots of front and back coverage. I guess that’s why they’re called ‘Granny Panties’. You know, grannies always want you to cover up all the way. Stop showing skin just for anybody to see and they do cover up everything. Briefs are classified as one of the most comfortable. They are designed to give snug and cozy feelings.

Briefs come in variants of control briefs, High Waist Briefs, Brazilian Briefs to mention but a few. The control briefs are best for those of us who are in need of tummy control. High waist briefs also help to hold the skin above the waistline. Brazilian briefs reveal as much as it conceals.

Did you know that that the word lingerie has its root in the French word linge or linen? So the word makes direct reference to the material with which it was traditionally made.

Now that you know. let’s get down to the business of the day. So, what are we looking at this week? Panties

Yes, we would be looking at panties. I don’t mean that literally (Laughs). In any case, there’s nothing to look. Only something to talk about.

Panties are basically female things. It is that item of clothing worn on the midsection of the body to cover the butt area behind and the V section in front. The extent of coverage is in grades. (Though panties are designed for coverage of the female parts, the levels of coverage is in shades/subjective.) Panties could be form-fitting or tight -hugging or loose. Panties are also called pants, undies, drawers or knickers depending on the clime.

Panties are made from different materials including cotton, which is considered the healthiest, satin, silk, lace, lycra, mesh and so on.

Panties are classified based on amount of rear coverage, width at the sides, height at which it is worn, leg room and a few other criteria. This categorization is not cast in stone as designs may be brand-specific. Creativity, innovation in addition to competition may make designs vary somewhat per brand. Some do a blend of more than one criterium.

Getting cute, comfortable or even sexy lingerie can be a daunting task. The effort at selecting notwithstanding, the price tag can be an issue. It is basically capital intensive. We could argue that since lingerie are the first thing you put on and the very last piece of clothing you shed; it is worth investing in. Agreed, there are times we want to indulge ourselves. But sometimes the pocket is not so full.

A few people may want to pass off on comfort and style when it comes to lingerie perhaps because of the scary price tag we see online or a few other places. That stop you from giving yourself that sensuous treat. How so, you may want to ask. Truth is every girl can get good quality stuff if they know where to look. So long as you aren’t looking for the top designer classified lingerie you are fine. By classified lingerie I mean those aimed at celebrities of our world.

One all-time trick is to choose your pick during discount sales. Sales period is when sellers want to clear their shops for new fashion trends.

It’s way cheaper to change or rejig your wardrobe during this period of huge discount. Some items could enjoy as much as 50% discount at this period. Your locality will determine when the sales period is. In places like Europe, UK, USA, Winter Sales run from January to around middle of February. Such a sort window of opportunity there. If you miss that Summer sales is the next time. That starts end of June till August. Towards the end of the period – end of July to August things could go for at low as 70 – 90% reduction.
