  • Can men accept the same hurt he puts a woman through?

DINING WITH NADIVA Ep. 52   Guest Host: Serena,  and Michael  Diva’s Table Topic: Can men accept the same hurt he puts a woman through?  Word of the Day / Definition: Sepulchral – Serious or sad and rather frightening.  Example Sentence: “Although the man offered me a million dollars to stay the night in the sepulchral house, my fear caused me to turn him down.”  Featured Restaurant:  La Patrona Caterting Owner – Mercedes Lastra 908-404-3199Elizabeth, NJ 07202 ig: lapatronacatering2020 FB: La Patrona Catering     Bio:  Mercedes Lastra, is the owner and founder of La Patrona Catering,LLC. Mercy came from humble beginnings. As she was raised by a single working mother, she spent most of her time in her Cuban grandmother’s kitchen. Where she was constantly cooking up delicious cultural cuisine from her birthplace. She’s proud to say her grandmother has been the inspiration behind her passion for cooking to this day. Mercy enjoys the smiles on her customers’ face as they experience and savor the flavor of her own recipes. Her dishes are influenced by a Caribbean background with a flare of Honey and Soul. Dishes:  Traditional Cuban style Pernil Pollo Asado con Camarones y Vegetales – baked chicken with shrimp and veggies Congri – Cuban rice Yuca c/ Mojo  Cajun Mac n Cheese and Cornbread Divas Table Topic: Can men accept the same hurt he puts a woman through? Stats: https://www.nydailynews.com/life-styl..."Common wisdom says that women are more hurt by problems in a relationship," lead researcher Robin Simon, a Wake Forest University sociologist, told ABC News. "But we found that the benefits of support [in a relationship] and the disadvantages of strain are exaggerated for the men." When hurt, women are likely to become depressed while men tend to engage in substance use or abuse, according to Simon. And the more problems a guy faces in a relationship, the higher he tended to score on a substance abuse scale. Psychologist and author Frances Cohen Praver believes the emotional gender difference could be due to the fact that women are actually less sensitive to the issues.     "Women are more naturally expressive," Audrey Nelson, author of "Code Switching: How to Talk so Men Will Listen," told ABC News. "We'll cry, show our feelings – when a woman is having a hard time, she has two or three friends she can talk to, to ease the pain. Men have the same feelings and emotions, but they have no outlet."
