Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event which often affects us long after the incident itself. Our guest shares her experiences of trauma in 3 different instances and shares how she found her way to triumph from those traumas.

Trauma can be experienced in different ways and to different degrees but we don’t have to face this alone. Our guest reminds us to reach out to trusted community when we are processing through trauma and to prioritise ourselves in order to get to a place of peace, freedom and healing.

Peace can sometimes seem distant when we are constantly on the go and get swept up in the hustle culture of society. We can find ourselves stressed, over committed and overwhelmed. But God offers us a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We gain so much from prioritizing peace - we are able to heal, we are able to reflect and to realign where we need to. When we have peace we find clarity! Our habits can sometimes detract us from peace by feeling anxiety, and when we are aware of this, we get to shift those habits and invite more peace into our lives. Our guest shares that she has to be intentional about ensuring she regularly reflects on her habits and time to better incorporate activities and habits that foster peace in her life.

How can you prioritize peace in your life in this season?

Clearing the clutter is not only about our spaces but also clearing the internal clutter. In many cases our external environment mirrors our internal space and when we recognize clutter it can be an indicator that we need to address something internally as well.

Our guest lays out a 3C’s process and encourages us to consider the condition, create a plan , and then commit to change when approaching decluttering. Her practical ideas can help you declutter a physical space and can also be applied to our emotional space as well.

She anchors this in her acronym of CLEAR which reminds us of God’s unconditional love for us, His presence in all things and His goodness.

Embracing your NOPE is an acronym our guest created to help assess our networks, our goals and determine where we need to cut back. Taking the time to reflect on who we spend time with, what we spend time on and how we spend our time helps us to be more intentional with our time and energy.

Saying no can be difficult sometimes, and we often feel we have to explain ourselves when we do say no. When we are authentic with our yeses we can be authentic with our nos.

When life throws us curveballs, we find ourselves asking "Why me?" and although there is a healthy aspect to acknowlegding the situation as it is, we can get stuck there and that can negatively affect every aspect of our lives. Sitting on the island of "Why me?" doesn't help us to move forward but there is hope. When we move into acceptance, and look for possible steps to move us into action, we can start the process of healing.

When we shift our perspective and choose differently we can start to see the big picture, and see God working in our lives. We can start to see the lessons, open ourselves up to choices we have and embrace the healing we need. Our guest shares a simple 3 step process to shift from "Why me?" thinking. She encourages us to let go of judgment and approach solutions with compassion. She reminds us that God is working for us, and has a beautiful plan for our lives.

Our guest Crystalynn Godek is the a certified coach, and founder of Heart Over Head Coaching. She is a wife and mom of two. As a coach, she helps busy moms put themselves on and at the top of their to-do lists and renew confidence in themselves.

When we think of kindness, what first comes to mind is someone doing something nice for us but when we consider the depth of kindness we see that it is more than that. God offers us kindness even when we don't deserve it, He offers us kindness not to cheer us up but to show His love for us. Even when we make mistakes, God restores and redeems us.

Kindness is a quality we value in others and one we have at our disposal to offer others, freely. Our guest, Heather, encourages us to go beyond ourselves and our comfort zones to offer kindness in small ways or big ways. Loss is a topic we often shy away from as a society but all of us at some point or another will go through it. Having suffered several devastating personal losses, our guest Jodie, shares her journey of finding hope, of finding life after loss.

Grief can overhwhelm us when we cling too to it, and if we don't deal with our loss we can find ourselves unable to function. For some though, it's easier to deny grief and that can hold us back from living fully as we try avoid hurt, pain, and in turn avoid hope, joy and love. We need to take the time to acknowledge our loss and grieve in order to move passed it. Our guest reminds us that even in times of grief there is joy to be found everyday. She encourages us to work through the pain, as difficult as that might be, and to find purpose from our pain.

We often go throguh life in survival mode, not quite in tune with what's truly going on around us; we over-schedule ourselves and avoid what’s really bothering us. When we are authentic and honest with ourselves we are able to uncover what we truly want, and make steps towards that.

Our guest outlines a process to clarity by starting with first identifying the roles and characteristics that best align with who we are and identifying our core values. She cautions us not to overanalyse or focus on our perceived weaknesses but instead look towards our strengths.

We have had some amazing guests on our show who have shared their stories vulnerably, openly and authentically with us. With each episode we aim to encourage women but more so to be real about the difficulties we face as we navigate life.

In this episode we are reminded that “we need to feel it to heal it,” that we thrive in community, that our lives have a purpose, and that God is at the centre of it all. As we look back we have a lot to be grateful for, and we appreciate you all for listening.
