Even though I’m a local, this summer brought me a first-time adventure: taking the ferry from Kingston to Edmonds. As the boat moved across Puget Sound, I watched the shoreline recede and took in the cool breeze, feeling the excitement build with every mile.

In this episode of Lipstick Hiker, I’m sharing what it was like to experience something new so close to home, the anticipation of the crossing, and the reminder that adventure can be waiting in familiar places.

In this episode, we talk about affection, manifesting the connection we desire, and the comforting power of cuddling. Because wanting warmth, touch, and closeness isn't asking for too much.

Welcome back to Lipstick Hiker—because connection is a two-way trail.

Today, I’m thinking about vibrations.

Everything carries energy: our voices, our movements, our words, and even our silence. Before someone says anything, we can often feel what they’re bringing into the space. That feeling is what we call a vibe.

A vibe is a vibration—energy being expressed and received.

What if the life—and love—you desire is already making its way toward you? After attending a powerful two-day workshop, I’m sharing a few nuggets that shifted how I think about manifestation, intention, and becoming aligned with what I want. “I have a boyfriend—I just haven’t met him yet” isn’t about forcing an outcome; it’s about believing, making space, and living as though something beautiful is possible.

Discernment is your friend. In this episode, we explore the difference between being contacted and truly connected—and how paying attention to consistency, curiosity, intention, and reciprocity can reveal whether someone is genuinely showing up or simply reaching out.

Celebrating my 50th birthday by trekking Iceland’s legendary Laugavegur Trail—through spectacular colorful mountains, volcanic landscapes, glaciers, hot springs, and wild open spaces. A journey filled with gratitude, adventure, and unforgettable moments.

Lipstick Hiker is where hiking, travel, trail-tested gear, dating, and honest conversations come together. We'll share adventures, lessons learned, the occasional misstep, and the stories that make you laugh, nod your head, and think, "Yep... I've been there." Whether we're talking about the outdoors or relationships, we're all finding our way—one step at a time.

Because it's not about being contacted. It's about connecting.
