This week Liquid Sunshine is out of isolation and heading to Melbourne, Australia. This city is home to an exceptionally thriving funk, soul and jazz scene ready to be explored on The Face Radio. We’ll be visiting Northside Records, and the studio where Giles Peterson recorded a magnificent compilation of contemporary music from Melbs.

Hello Groovers,

This week we leave the Liquid Sunshine discotheque, go deep into outer space, and delve into the magical nebulas of cosmic disco and space funk. Space disco, one of the earliest forms of electronic disco, emerged in Europe in the late 70s and merged into house and deep house several decades later. Put on your spacesuit and enjoy the trip!

Good times,

Hello Groovers,

This week in the Liquid Sunshine discotheque, we look at the amazing career of the amazing Roy Ayers. Jazz, soul, funk, disco, Afrobeat all in one lifetime. And then he goes on to become the Godfather of Neo-Soul and the most sampled artist in Hip Hop. Respect for this genuine warm, positive, and all-round nice guy!
