Solid Entry in MG Fantasy Series
Summary: Elle Burtons brother has disappeared. Jimmy becomes a Guardian. Elle might be the Chosen One, but she has to save her brother first.
    Additional Comments:
    - Its definitely middle grade.
    - It probably helps to read book 1.
    - The audiobook was well-narrated.
    - Elles a fun character. I dont get much sense of Jimmy, but I think hell be important in the series later.
    - The magic world is pretty well-defined. There are some terms that are probably better explained in book 1.
    - The danger and way they solve the mystery is fairly realistic.
    - I enjoyed the way Elles home life progressed. Theres good balance of her being a hero and just being a 10 year old kid with a heart of gold.
    - I dont usually comment on covers but the audiobook one is by far my preferred one vs the ebook one.
Conclusion: Solid entry in an interesting MG fantasy series.
*I received a free audiobook. The decision to review as well as the rating was my own.
    Not a children's book
I listen to book one and found the subject matter way to grown up and involved for it to be a children's book. At least not a young child which it seems to be geared toward? Now this second book leads straight off the other book. Kid napping, death of another child , possession by Demond's it's a little hard to figure out what age group this is geared towards. I find I like the books over all and the characters are well developed and likable. I really believe these books could have been broken down into smaller books so they didn't feel so overwhelming. I think more then anything that's the problem. ( I can't believe I'm saying it either) but there is just too much to take in at one time. Consider making theses smaller books and allowing the reader or listener a chance to breath before the next tragedy or adventure strikes. I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review.
    Excellent Book And Performance!
What made the experience of listening to Missing the most enjoyable?
The Narrator Gave All The Characters More Life Than The Story Already Had!
What did you like best about this story?
The Determination And The Strength Of The Main Character
Which character as performed by LC Kane was your favorite?
Amadeus... Such A Strong Protective Character
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    The Fairies Of Babies...

About 10-12 "riddles", no brain teasers, but it's okay for little kids.
Short, takes maybe 5 minutes to read. I would have preferred having the riddle presented, and the answer on the next page, rather than the ten or so riddles, followed by another ten or so pages where the riddles are repeated with the answer at the bottom.

Loved this adorable children's story. My 8 year old was a little out of the age range for this one but he even found it really enjoyable! Great narration!

The best thing about being a new grandmother is finding new and fun stories to share with my little girls! Its also the hardest part.
Mr Kurtz wrote a FABULOUS tale about several woodland critters - all lovable and adorable! The narrator was a joy to listen to, as well!
Im looking forward to sharing this charming story about these animals who come together to save their home and cant wait to see what they are up against in the other three seasons!
I do hope he takes these animals on more adventures with various diverse holidays (hint, hint, hint!)

Susan is quite selfish, but it's not entirely her fault because her parents are the same too. She is very excited about each Christmas because her parents give her the best toys and clothes because they are rich. One evening around the dinner table, Susan's father asks her if she would give her friends some of her toys for Christmas, but she insists that her friends have enough for themselves. Her dad doesn't say anything, but her mother then insists that Susan eats her vegetables. But the girl is disobedient, so her dad tells her to eat it, or she will get one toy for Christmas, and her friends will get the rest. Susan, hearing this, decides to eat her vegetables, brush her teeth, and go to sleep. However, five minutes after falling asleep, she discovers a man appearing before her in white clothes and an illuminating light. The man identifies himself as the angel of the Lord, Gabriel, who always brings good news. Gabriel then tells Susan that his mission is to bring her back in time to show her the real meaning of Christmas. In the end, Susan discovers the true meaning of Christmas, and she spreads the good news to her parents.

    AWESOME BOOK!!!
This book is so good. I love the entire Star Darling series, and I have yet to be disappointed. Astra is a great character. This series is perfect for 5-12 year olds, because even though the books are a little kid-ish it has plenty of suspense, but all the while, not too much, for the five-year-olds need to be ok with them. They are a really easy read for almost everyone, I'm nine and it takes me an hour or less to read one of these books.
The series takes place in Starland. Starlings, the inhabitants, are very high-tech, but in a good way. We are part of the story, but it's not choose-your-own-adventure, and or names are not mentioned in the book. We live on Wishworld

    Publisher's Summary:
The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood by Charles Perrault is a classic French fairytale involving a beautiful princess, a sleeping enchantment, and a handsome prince.
"There were formerly a king and a queen, who were so sorry that they had no children; so sorry that it cannot be expressed. They went to all the waters in the world; vows, pilgrimages, all ways were tried, and all to no purpose. At last, however, the Queen had a daughter. There was a very fine christening; and the Princess had for her godmothers all the fairies they could find in the whole kingdom (they found seven), that every one of them might give her a gift, as was the custom of fairies in those days. By this means, the Princess had all the perfections imaginable. After the ceremonies of the christening were over, all the company returned to the King's palace, where was prepared a great feast for the fairies. There was placed before every one of them a magnificent cover with a case of massive gold, wherein were a spoon, knife, and fork, all of pure gold set with diamonds and rubies. But as they were all sitting down at table they saw come into the hall a very old fairy, whom they had not invited, because it was above fifty years since she had been out of a certain tower, and she was believed to be either dead or enchanted. The King ordered her a cover, but could not furnish her with a case of gold as the others, because they had only seven made for the seven fairies. The old Fairy fancied she was slighted, and muttered some threats between her teeth. One of the young fairies who sat by her overheard how she grumbled; and, judging that she might give the little Princess some unlucky gift, went, as soon as they rose from table, and hid herself behind the hangings, that she might speak last, and repair, as much as she could, the evil which the old Fairy might intend."

Are you ready to get into the adventure of Pokemon Go?
Here is a sample from the prologue.
    Day 1:
I am the greatest. I am perfect. I am a star! I am Jynx!
Many, many years ago, before many of you were born, I was the most famous Jynx in the world. I could dance, I could sing, I could act - you name it. And I was beautiful, gorgeous, flawless. As a young Jynx, I had the most amazing, flowing, golden hair you've ever seen. My purple skin was without blemish, and my red body was a vibrant bright red that made heads turn whenever I walked into a room. My eyes had that special twinkle - the twinkle of a star - that set me apart from every other Jynx in show business. Everywhere I went, I was followed by fans trying to take my picture or get my autograph. I must've signed a million autographs in my life - and I plan to sign a million more!
Yes, it's true. I haven't worked in a few years, and the fans are no longer banging down my door like they used to... But the time for a comeback is now!
I have decided to start keeping a diary. I will write the story of my second rise to fame. Someday everyone will want to know the story of my comeback, and they will be able to read this diary - sure to be a best-selling world-famous book someday soon....

    Bleh
My son and I have almost finished all of Isabel Jones' Pokemon Go Diary series, we've just got Mewtwo left. Well besides skipping the awful narration of Pidgey and Hypno, I wish we didn't have to skip Pidgey as that is his favorite of all pokemon.
Sidetracked.... This one was our least favorite. Jynx is was a starlet and is now past her prime. She is obsessed with the spotlight, acts like a jerk to her old acting friends because being a villian is much more fun (being a star she doesn't have to go to work when she is meant to despite friends trying to get her to come as the movie is as much a come back for them as her.) In the end, she does work kindly with her actor friends but only because she is trapped looking ahead to a horror story where she is captured and forced to fight (incapable of beating a pidgey) and being revived over and over.
I shouldn't judge too harshly, we have really enjoyed OTHER diaries in the series. Jynx is just... Jynx-y I guess. But when this was over he told me to delete it forever.
Scyther's, Jiggly's, and Gengar's are the favorites here.

Take a trip to a magical adventure!
Well, this was my first experience with childrenâs audiobooks for my grandson and me. And boy, we werenât disappointed! Finally we have something interesting to get Grayson away from the iPod and YouTube!
The book included eight soothing stories, perfect for young children to feed their fantasies, and for me to experience a peaceful time. Grayson enjoyed mimicking all kinds of animals and growing things. And taking a trip to a magical woodland was pure pleasure! And donât start me on the voyage into outer space with gentle background music and a great storyline. So much fun!
Listening to these engaging stories, we learned a lot about trees and what they try to teach us. The author beautifully linked the life lesson with the intriguing stories and beautiful music. This book will bring a child a sense of stability and security. Just like in nature. âSad things can happen. Difficult things can happen. Good and exciting things can happen!â
Hilary Hawkes has created a beautiful message for children and grown-ups. Great stories to listen to in the car, on a trip, or just before bedtime. It is a very soothing and interactive fable for any age, teaching children to explore the beauty of nature and the world outside. If you want to calm down your child, this book is definitely for you!
8 calming stories that will help young children use their own imaginations
I loved listening to the audio versions of these 8 calming stories, and am sure they will be ideal for helping young children to use their own imaginations, and even to learn a very simple, relaxing meditation. Kids will enjoy pretending they are a growing acorn, an owl or a squirrel, and they will no doubt want to join in with the stories by miming their own actions. They will even be whisked away on a magical woodland adventure, or on a trip into outer space.
Read as soothing narratives, with gentle background music, each of the stories would be ideal for either one child to listen to on their own at home, or for a class of children to listen to together. A great way for parents to get their young children away from gadgets, and back to enjoying the simple basics of life.
I particularly enjoyed listening to "The Forever Tree", and loved the simple way that this story would help a child, or even an adult, realise that they can stand tall and rooted whatever events in life may come and go, just as "The Forever Tree" is kept safe by its own roots as the seasons come and go. Highly recommended.
So many wonderful ways to enjoy this!
This is a great audio for listening before bed, on a car trip or just about anywhere! I loved the nice soothing stories with soft music in the background.I loved the messages of the stories too. This would be perfect for calming a child down as they head off to bed or for a mid-day nap.
