Note: This is a summary and analysis, not the original book.
Born the son of parents that survived the Great Depression and a father that fought on the Pacific Theater of World War II, Bill O'Reilly was raised in the old school way.
"Old school" refers to the values that are espoused by Americans of yesteryear. As the political machine has given way to snowflakes and those in need of a safe space, the authors feel like America needs to be reminded of the greatness that accompanies the old-school values of life.
While sharing the old-school values, O'Reilly reiterates that the racist parts of America's past should not be brought back, but the values that made America great can bring us back to the forefront of civilization.

Title: Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool
    Subtitle: A True Story
    Author: Peter Turner
    Narrator: Peter Kenny
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 6 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-04-17
    Publisher: Audible Studios
    Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Celebrities
    Publisher's Summary:
Now a major motion picture starring Academy Award nominee, Annette Bening, and BAFTA Award winners Jamie Bell and Julie Walters. Coming to cinemas November 16.
On 29 September 1981, Peter Turner received a phone call that would change his life. His former lover, Hollywood actress Gloria Grahame, had collapsed in a Lancaster hotel and was refusing medical attention. He had no choice but to take her into his chaotic and often eccentric family's home in Liverpool.
Liverpool born and bred, Turner had first set eyes on Grahame when he was a young actor living in London. Best known for her portrayal of irresistible femme fatales in films such as The Big Heat, Oklahoma and The Bad and the Beautiful, for which she won an Oscar, Grahame electrified audiences with her steely expressions and heavy-lidded eyes, and the heroines she bought to life were often dark and dangerous. Turner and Grahame became firm friends and remained so even after their love affair had ended. And it was to him she turned in her final hour of need.
Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool is an affectionate, moving and wryly humorous memoir of friendship, love and stardom.

    Wonderful story.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
A heartwarming story of how a Liverpool family helped a relative stranger in times of need. Filled with Liverpudlian humour the story has been well written by the author who nursed Gloria Grahame during this difficult time. The perfect book which will make you laugh one minute and cry the next.
Maybe it will be a better film
I really wanted to like this but I'm afraid I found the accents a bit too hammy and jarring (and I am speaking as a Liverpudlian). I'm sure there is a charming story here but it would probably be better conveyed in the forthcoming film.
    Feel good, enchanting .....
Fabulous, heartfelt, humanity at its best ..... a fading hollywood film star, a warm and funny liverpool family, a very tender love story, what a fabulous mix xx

Believing that a life lived fully isn't one with the most money earned, the most stuff bought or the most races won but one with the most experiences experienced the most fully, she decided to conquer her fear of the water.
From the ignominy of getting into a wetsuit to the triumph of swimming from Kefalonia to Ithaca, in becoming a swimmer Alexandra learns to appreciate her body and still her mind. As it turns out, the water is never as frightening once you're in, and really, everything is better when you remember to exhale.

    Very entertaining
This is read by the author, who reads it entertainingly and well, I can't imagine it would be half as good read by another narrator.
The story of her adventures into outdoor swimming is as humourously and well told as her book on running, with little forays into her personal life for added interest.
I can wholeheartedly recommend both Alexandra Heminsley's audiobooks. They have also encouraged me to give running and swimming a good try! Alexandra makes them hard to resist.
    loved it
A very inspiring heart warming and wrenching book.
Alexandra writes in such a way that make swimming feel so much more accessible and less scary even to a reluctant swimmer like myself.
    inspirational

    Publisher's Summary:
Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of Concussion by Jeanne Marie Laskas, read by Hillary Huber.
This is the story of one man's fight against a multibillion-dollar colossus. A man who stood up for what was right, whatever the cost.
The brilliant young forensic pathologist had no idea that the body on the slab in front of him would change his life - and ultimately change the world. The body belonged to legendary American footballer Mike Webster, whose mental health had rapidly declined after he had stopped playing - he had ended up Tasering himself to relieve his chronic back pain and fixing his rotting teeth with superglue.
Dr Bennet Omalu found that the psychosis suffered by "Iron Mike" was no accident. His autopsy unearthed evidence of a trauma-related disease - the direct result of years of blows to the head in games. He knew it would keep killing scores of other sportsmen unless something was done. He believed that the NFL (National Football League), one of the most powerful corporations in America, would welcome the discovery. But it was the one truth they wanted to ignore.
    Omalu himself became a target.
    Critic Reviews:

Length: 6 hrs and 28 mins

    Publisher's Summary:
It took just four years for Mahendra Singh Dhoni to transform from a boy from an obscure small town into an icon of Indian sports. The events that made up that tale turned into one of the greatest feel-good stories of recent times, and I felt it needed to be told.
Dhoni is arguably the most radical and influential Indian cricketer since the emergence of Kapil Dev in the late '70s. The positive impact he has had on Indian cricket - and on aspiring youth - is the modern-day version of a fairy tale come true. Since he received no formal training during his formative years, Dhoni's rough-and-ready ways were never ironed out of his system. There lies his appeal, and that is what pulls in the crowds. Here is a leader - India's captain in one-day internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 since 2007 and in a Test in 2008 - who makes bold decisions and carries them forward. The fact that the results have in the main turned out to be positive is no mere stroke of luck. Like Kapil Dev a quarter of a century earlier, Dhoni is instinctive, going by his gut feeling. No wonder he was the prize catch when it came to the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. And leading the Chennai Super Kings to the final of the inaugural event added another arrow to his quiver. Dhoni today is on top of the world. This is his inspiring story.
    Members Reviews:
    Boring
Feels like we are reading the news paper analysis of every match.
    Worst excuse for a book
It is an expanded Wikipedia article. All it contains is information like, '....Dhoni hit this many boundaries this many sixes scored this many runs against this team, that team......he won the series against team X team Y scored this many runs.....' The author praises Dhoni's leadership skills as a captain but fails to explain why, other than citing "tactical changes at the right moment."
The Bibliography section is THE shortest I've seen in a book. It contains only magazine articles and online cricket websites, not even a single interview with anyone who knows Dhoni personally.
Save your money for another book, Google "MS Dhoni" and you will find more information on Captain Cool than you will find in this book.
