Why Pimsleur?
What's Included?
What You'll Learn
Builds upon skills taught in Pimsleur's Hindi Level 1.
In the first 10 lessons, you'll learn more past tense expressions. Structures become more complex, and informal speech is introduced. Soon you'll take part in conversations about ordering meals, shopping, and local tourist attractions. As you progress, your fluency will increase, and your vocabulary expands. The next 10 lessons will allow you to further combine and build upon known elements and produce longer and more complex sentences. You'll be discussing business and social activities, expressing your interests, and talking about the weather.
In the final 10 lessons, you'll double your vocabulary and have several hundred structures to draw upon. You'll be able to ask for assistance in many situations and talk about various locations of buildings. You'll explore sports and leisure activities such as yoga and cooking and manage changing money and banking. By the end of the program, you'll be speaking at a midintermediate level with near-native pronunciation, and you'll be comfortable meeting most social demands and limited job requirements.
Reading lessons, which build upon the reading skills acquired in level 1, are included at the end of lesson 30. These lessons, which total about one hour, are designed to give you practice reading Hindi.
Critic Reviews:
"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)

This is a poor Hindi course and I do not recommend it
This is a poor Hindi course and I do not recommend it. Hereâs a list of some problems:
The voice actors from level 1 have been replaced and the new actors have different accents. So you have to learn to pronounce some words again. This is frustrating if youâre moving up from level 1 without a break. The male speaker can be hard to follow. He speaks too quickly and his accent often silences or modifies consonants at ends of words. Sometimes heâs incomprehensible.
The scripts are sloppy and instructions can be hard to follow. It isnât always clear if you should repeat or respond to a prompt. And Itâs not always clear if Iâm supposed to be speaking as a man or woman.
Between the hard-to-understand man and sloppy scripts it takes lots of focus to get through some lessons.
