Loads of laughs, a great cozy on water

I enjoyed this book so much that I had to jump at the chance to listen to it.

Nicky and Noah are college professors and always getting into trouble solving a mystery ( think Nancy Drew or Hardy boys toss in lots of humor some sweet man-love and you have a great story to make you laugh and brighten your day.)

There are lots of quirky characters, twists and turns I never figure out the murderer.

I am on the fence about the narration in this one though. I didn't really like Noah's voice he sounded like a young kid or too girly and one of the women sounded too butch. I think if the two voices had been switched the narration would have been perfect. (yes I know Noah is gay and flamboyant but the voice just didn't work for me.)

Zany mystery with a heart

Another fun book in the series! We follow the third adventure of now-fiances Nicky and Noah as they direct a murder mystery show on a cruise ship, and life imitates art as actors start dropping like flies. Joe Cosentino has not only crafted a fascinating murder mystery with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end, but also a laugh riot and a side of romance. Cosentino has a unique style that is different than anything else I have read. The book is full of hysterical one-liners, quirky characters, and off-beat situations, really pushing the envelope, yet never becoming cartoon-ish. The funniest parts are with Nicky and Noah's parents, who have surprised them by booking passage on the cruise. This is a great third book in the series. Brad Enright does a great job at bringing the characters to life and moving the story along.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course Nicky, the MC. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is so passionate about everything he does -- from his directing, to his love for his husband, to his dedication to solving the murders.

Have you listened to any of Brad Enrights other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. This is the first book I have heard. He did a great job in delineating the different characters and moving the story along.

Joe Cosentino has me rolling on the floor with his zany, witty, and unexpected humor, yet he writes fascinating characters and an intriguing mystery plot that keeps you guessing until the end.

Stupid and somewhat offensive

This mystery is simpler and uses more stereotypes than its predecessors.

Nicole Cushing is a delight, her imagination kicks open the doors that other writers, no matter how subversive, leave locked.

The reader is perfect, she matches the tone beautifully so that the unknowing listener has absolutely no idea the thrills that await in this gorgeously twisted tale.

Highly recommended for those of a stronger disposition... fans of De Sade and Lautremont take heed.

I read the novella first and had to get the audio when it came out. Julia Duval's voice adds another element to the storytelling that kept me engaged though I knew where it was going.

Heartbreaking

It was dark and sad, but a good book. Took a little concentration to keep all the characters straight. I did enjoy how they all intertwined.

A Rollercoaster Ride of Brilliance!

Would you consider the audio edition of A Perception of Sin to be better than the print version?

They both have merit in equal measure. In either format this book delivers a true sense of what humans are capable of.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Perception of Sin?

The Liberation of Belson stands out for me, as a literary masterpiece bringing out the horror of the event so much so it has stayed with me for days.

Yes, it takes it's time to gather momentum but after a certain point I couldn't stop listening.

This book has taken over my life from car journeys to doing the washing up just couldn't stop listening to it!

Juliet Cromwell takes you on a truly emotional ride from little neb the dog that nobody wanted to Edward dealing with the horrific sights at bergen belsen.

I would recommend this book to everyone!

Enthralling

What a true gem of a book I found here, by chance too, it appeared in a search that actually bore no relevance to the book however, the twists, turns and flow of this book kept me engaged and wanting to know more. I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Great series

Im enjoying the range of different characters and the varied complex plots in this series as Kane and co struggle to retain control of their specialised escort business. This story has a darker and more violent feel to it as the two main characters go undercover to help flush out mafia dealings in a BDSM sex slave auction. Theres plenty of drama and several twists along the way. I will need to listen again to sort it all out in my head.

Theres attraction and sizzling chemistry between Nick and Jace from the start and the development of their relationship over the story was well done. Their intimate scenes are hot and their concern for each others welfare was spot on. I loved Nicks protectiveness of Jace.

The story was steadily paced. I particularly liked the suspense and action in the last third of book, especially the exciting scenes at the house in The Hamptons.

As always, superb, well-paced narration by Michael, with a range of different voices for the characters.

I love love this series. It was hard for me to put the books down I couldn't wait to see what the Mad Dogs got into next. My only dislike is that the series is probably ended. Maybe Brenda will continue on because I would love to hear about the makeup of a new squad with the difference of the current Mad Dog's abilities.

Love this series

Love this series but boy do I hate the waiting for the next book. Lol..I do wish a few of the intimate scenes were longer and more detailed but that is just a personal preference. I highly recommend this series for loves of paranormal, m/m romance, and military.

Liked it until the end

I really liked this story until the end. It had mystery, romance, heartache, and a little danger...all the makings of a good story. However I was very disappointed in the ending. Maybe it will feel like an HEA or HFN to others, but to me it just seemed sad. In spite of everything he went through Jonathan ended up alone. Paul betrayed and left him, and while Lucius might remain an occasional friend, it seemed that Jonathan would not have the love he wished for.

The narration seemed a little fast and stilted at first, but as the story went on, I warmed up to it, and it became comfortable and seemed to suit the story.

I would recommend this story for the romance and nostalgia throughout, but I would warn others like myself who want a wonderful, certain HEA ending as that didn't seem assured.

Decent story, events a little unbelievable

Is there anything you would change about this book?

While the prose was good throughout, I found some of the situations (and I'm not even talking about the paranormal elements) to be unbelievable and contradictory. Only Jonathan was fairly developed as a character, and even then he was just too quick to accept what people said or did without question. His 10 year relationship with his lover, Paul, was unbelievable because Paul was a total jackass. I don't know how Jonathan could have stayed with him for 10 years the way Paul treated him. Paul never gave a straight answer to anything, and was quick to deflect and turn everything onto Jonathan and not take responsibility for his own actions. When Jonathan discovers that Paul has been lying to him, and may have been cheating (we are not sure as that is never fully explained), Paul deflects and Jonathan just accepts the situation or something interferes with their conversation and they never get back to discussing it, so we never really found out the truth about Paul. The old woman at first warns Jonathan that if he tries to get involved with his childhood friend, it will end badly for them and pleads with him to stay away. Then she is all for them getting together. Makes no sense!

Would you recommend Prince of the Sea to your friends? Why or why not?

Probably not, unless I warned them to suspend belief.

Disappointed

Let me start by saying a LOVE Ava March. I have all of her books in audio and love every one of them ...until this one. The narrator, like all of her narrators, is top notch and he does a wonderful job. The story starts out fantastic, regency vampires, love from afar, how can you go wrong? Well, when there is more sex than story and when the story abruptly ends with a ton of issues unresolved. If this was the first book in a series, I would understand. But according to her website, it is not. So if you just want some hot vampire sex, this is the book for you. But I have a different expectation for an Ava March book.

Enjoyable story and superb narration.

I enjoyed this fast paced story, especially the scenes set at the beach house as Sean and Mike act on their attraction to each other. The sexual tension is high and their sex scenes are smoking throughout. I also liked the little twists along the way as the plot becomes more complex, such as when it becomes apparent there's more to their assignment to babysit lawyer Lovett Junior than it appears at first. I found Junior's voyeur scene hilarious too.

Nyas writing style is highly original, filled with dry, snarky humour that makes the story witty and entertaining.

Michaels narration is superb. He gives the characters their own distinct and recognisable voice, each subtly different yet matching their personalities. His timing is spot on too, particularly in delivering the humorous quips, and although generally softly spoken his voice is full of emotion and expression.
