Distraction divides our attention and pulls us away from our original focus. Like the wind and waves that distracted Peter when he was walking on the water, distraction steals our attention, changes our direction, and causes us to drown in unbelief in waters that were under our feet when our focus was on Jesus.
Mary of Bethany interacted with Jesus three times, and all three times she is described to be at His feet each time for different reasons. The first time Jesus describes her as undistracted. The third time Jesus declared that her life would be remembered for her lavish devotion to Him.
