    I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK!
People who favor the writings of Paul Selig ("I Am the Word") and Shanti Christo foundation for Jeshua ben Joseph ("The Way of Mastery") will find this book in alignment with those principles. While more lighthearted & playful, its' impactful message is no less apparent. I also liked the cadence & tone of the narrator's voice; it is clear and very pleasant listening.

Angels in the Realms of Heaven: The Reality of Angelic Ministry Today is the third book in the exciting, real-life, supernatural series Dancing With Angels! If you are intrigued by what heaven looks like and what God's angels are doing today - you will love this book. Heaven and angels are described in detail by someone who has been there numerous times. Unlike other books that are basically Bible studies about angels, Angels in the Realms of Heaven is full of testimonies of actual present-day angelic encounters and visitations. "The Lord told me to record my supernatural experiences, and they are shared in this book. I hope these simple testimonies about heaven will inspire in every listener a sense of their heavenly home," writes author Kevin Basconi. Feels almost like I was traveling with Mr Basconi!
This is the best book of this type I have ever read & I've read over 50!
    VIVID IMAGINING
    Two things.
    1.) Relentless and repetitive descriptions.
2.) Hawking other books by the author.
What did I come away with from this book?
The author is a high functioning autistic. It's a sweet story, It is far too embellished to be true.
Either the narrator or the author or both painted an imaginative portrait of Jesus that reminded me of some hacky-sack hipster that collects antiques and plays with children.
Angels in my opinion, as presented in this book, are anonymous, mute house eunuchs that were more creepy than benevolent.
"In my father's there are many mansions." Justifying this story, maybe this describes the author's mansion. Everyone else's mansion may well be quite different. Heaven is a state of pure creative thought that each person can create, ala, What Dreams May Come.
Personally, my soul was not touched and my heart strings were not tugged. I accept this book as fiction and only fiction.
"Thou shalt not bear false witness... "
    Disappointing narrative
I love Kevin & Kathy Basconi. I listen to their messages on Podomatic and enjoy their books. I did not, however, enjoy this reading. It was flat and seemed lifeless, exactly opposite of the testimonies. I'll read their books in the future, and skip the narration.

    Kingdom
If anyone is tired of religion, and in need of a change, the message that Jesus preached is the answer. The Kingdom of God is worth selling everything for which is what Jesus taught in Matthew 13:44-46. Pray that we all may enter, experience and permeate this life by doing the Fathers will on the earth.
    what I was looking for
I notice that I've been trying to do so many things simultaneously. It's gotten to the point where I genuinely felt there has to be an easier way for me to have a purposeful life. I've been getting so burnt out and that's never a good thing. The scripture seek first the kingdom of God kept coming to my mind. So I wanted to understand the kingdom of God and how I can seek it first. This book is helping me to do two things "seek first the Kingdom of God" and "seek righteousness". I truly believe that's my remedy for preventing burnt out.
    Awesome Book!
Loved it, clear and direct teaching.
Glory to God for His Truth!
    A Must Read Book!

  • The Passion of the Atheist Audiobook by Casper Rigsby

Title: The Passion of the Atheist
Subtitle: Exploring the Emotional Aspects of Atheism
    Author: Casper Rigsby
    Narrator: Paul Sating
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 1 hr and 17 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-25-16
    Publisher: Atheist Republic Publications
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 9 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
There seems to be an inherent notion that atheism is simply about logic and reason. While there is some merit to this notion, it in and of itself seems to imply that this is all there is to the atheist position. But we are not Vulcans, and as such we do not operate on logic alone. No matter how much we would like to think of ourselves as logic driven and enlightened people, we cannot neglect the fact that we are human and that our emotions play an important part in our beliefs or lack thereof.
So, what I would like to offer with this title is that there is indeed an emotional component to the atheist position and also that this emotional component is as valid a reason for disbelief as any logical reasoning. Throughout this book I will put forward many emotional reasons that atheists have for our disbelief and go into as much detail as I can to describe not only the reasons for these emotions, but also the impact they have on us as individuals in coming to our position.

    Loved it
One of the best books I have read in a long time. Thank you for putting into words what a lot of us feel.
    Makes sense
Rigby makes sense of the lies I listened to when I was young and naive and wanted to believe in someone or something greater than my human existence. Thanks to books and authors like Rigsby, I am no longer in the the dark.
    Refreshing and validating
The text of this book was great and refreshing. I would recommend this to a younger reader, or someone who just needs a bit of validation. There's not a lot of new information in it, but the emotion is there as are great talking points for readers who want to engage in discussion. I like the book's theme, that there are a lot of opportunities to engage in conversation with others using emotion as well; we're all human.
*I listened to this on Audible... not a huge fan of the narration, but you get used to it.
which is probably the best angle. Not logic or philosophy
Third book by Casper Rigsby I have read. For me he hits the nail on the head every time. In the Passion he covers a new side to the argument, which is probably the best angle. Not logic or philosophy, but raw emotion which is what generates belief.
Can't believe I wasted my money on this.
The "books" Atheist Republic put out contain no original thought, wit, or any compelling reason to spend money on them it's just the same thing, uninspired, trite claptrap. The material from Rigsby is particularly bad, it is the worst thing I have ever read, it's like it was written by an unemployed neanderthal. Save your money and just bash your head in with a brick.Â

  • God and the Folly of Faith Audiobook by Victor J. Stenger

Title: God and the Folly of Faith
Subtitle: The Incompatibility of Science and Religion
    Author: Victor J. Stenger
    Narrator: David Smalley, Dan Barker
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 12 hrs and 36 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-04-16
    Publisher: Pitchstone Publishing
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 57 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
A thorough and hard-hitting critique that is a must-hear for anyone interested in the interaction between religion and science.
It has become the prevalent view among sociologists, historians, and some theistic scientists that religion and science have never been in serious conflict. Some even claim that Christianity was responsible for the development of science. In a sweeping historical survey that begins with ancient Greek science and proceeds through the Renaissance and Enlightenment to contemporary advances in physics and cosmology, Stenger makes a convincing case that not only is this conclusion false, but Christianity actually held back the progress of science for 1,000 years. It is significant, he notes, that the scientific revolution of the 17th century occurred only after the revolts against established ecclesiastic authorities in the Renaissance and Reformation opened up new avenues of thought.
The author goes on to detail how religion and science are fundamentally incompatible in several areas: the origin of the universe and its physical parameters, the origin of complexity, holism versus reductionism, the nature of mind and consciousness, and the source of morality. In the end, Stenger is most troubled by the negative influence that organized religion often exerts on politics and society. He points out antiscientific attitudes embedded in popular religion that are being used to suppress scientific results on issues of global importance, such as overpopulation and environmental degradation. When religion fosters disrespect for science, it threatens the generations of humanity that will follow ours.
    Members Reviews:
    Smalley Guts Another One
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The text itself is very good. On a par with Krauss's A Universe from Nothing, Weinberg's The First Three Minutes, and Shermer's Why Darwin Matters and it covers some of the same material in a way that enhances your understanding of the integrated field.
How could the performance have been better?
David Smalley, who mangled Stenger's "God: The Failed Hypothesis," is back and he manages to goof up this volume as well. He makes it obvious that Pitchstone just wanted to get an audio version out and didn't care enough about it to either (a) research even the most basic pronunciations for names and concepts or (b) get a narrator who was familiar enough with the material to get it right on his or her own. The performance takes all of the pleasure out of Stenger's fine work. A hack job that didn't have to be a hack job.
    Any additional comments?
Stenger's books are important. They're praised by the Four Horsemen and others as accessible ways to get up to speed on the scientific arguments in this field. The release of audiobook versions of Stenger's works were anxiously awaited.
