I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my own review. I enjoy listening to this narrator when he does the westerns. The stories were short and packed with drama. I enjoyed the first two and the last one the most.

Calling crow Nation

I have read all three books and totally enjoyed all three. Calling Crows story was so intriguing. I never realized that the Spanish took Indians into slavery. Calling Crows story was so amazing. From chief to slavery to the love of 2 women and back to Chief again. The battle with the Spanish. I The treatment the Indians indured. The disease white men brought to the indians.

I RATE all three books at a 5, excellent! I will be reading more of Paul Clayton's books.

I could have kept reading

Last of a trilogy, Calling Crow Nation continues the story of Calling Crow. Calling Crow leads his people and his family in a constant struggle against the Spanish and other tribes who assist to destroy their peaceful existance.

It is another saga, I would encourage to author to continue. I would enjoy reading about the generations that followed this powerful man.

Good series

This final book of the series was good. It shows the relationship between Europeans and native tribes more realistically than what Hollywood has presented and often history books have glossed over.

Billy Howard, Everyone's hero. Credit to the Genre and as comfortable as an old set of warn moccasins. Another Good Western

I got this ARC via audiobook boom. I enjoyed this one better than I did book 3 but book 1 is still my favorite. To wake up with a gun stuck in your face and then see your new wife and favorite horse stolen is cause for you to seek justice and that is exactly what happens. Loved the fight scenes and the descriptions of the chase. The narrator again was on par with the story.

I really enjoyed this book. Lots of action and a very good read. The only thing wrong is it is cramped into to short of a book it needed to be about 4 chapters longer.

Fast paced with details and I have read some of his other books ...

Have not been disappointed with his plots and ability to keep a readers interest. My reading interest started with westerns ,so I need some substance and a good story to keep me reading someone's story.

Good storyline.

A Deplorable's Review

For those who care, not trying to be mean, but, these books, the Gabriel Torrent series, are full of grammatical errors, punctuation errors and overall not well written. However, I have purchased all 6 that are available thus far. I do enjoy the storyline and I find it difficult to explain why. There is some interesting history blended here and depicts Native Americans and how the United States dealt with them in a realistic way. That is not all the books are about, however I enjoy the period of time these books are set and as a deplorable hard working patriot these books appeal to me, regardless of the mechanics of the writing. Easy to understand and follow, very fast paced (sometimes too fast paced), in need of an editor/editing (purists/snobs should keep away) . Enjoy the tales being told, and as for me, I will continue to read this author and his books/tales as they appeal to my "deplorable" self.

Wonderful Cavalry Western!

I thoroughly enjoyed TO THE DEATH by Brent Townes, an extension of Ben Bridges' original series. The action is fast and furious and the characters are deftly drawn. If you're a fan of cavalry westerns, as I am, I can't recommend this one enough. I loved the characters and am looking forward to hitting the trail with the same cast all over again. Congratulations, Brent. Keep 'em comin'!

Wow!

What a great book. It was a awesome read. I truly hope Kelso will stay sober now. He is a great soldier and a true man. I want to thank Brent Towns for a great read.

Great read Enjoyed

An excellent cavalry vs. Apaches Western that reminded me of classics like HONDO and A THUNDER OF DRUMS

This novel by Australian writer Brent Towns is Book 2 in the Company C Western series created by prolific UK novelist Ben Bridges. I hadnât read Book 1, but I had seen a glowing post about Towns in a blog post by another novelist I greatly admire, Paul Bishop. After reading TO THE DEATH!, I became a fan of Towns, too. He may be Australian, but he definitely gets American Westerns. His story and writing style in this book reminded me of some of the classic cavalry novels and movies I loved in the 1950s and 1960s, like HONDO, A THUNDER OF DRUMS and MAJOR DUNDEE. Itâs fast-paced Western action and adventure with no long-winded exposition, or superfluous expletives or sex. The men of Company C, who face bloody ambushes by Apaches and are sent on a possibly suicidal mission to rescue four women captured by them, are well-drawn, believable characters. I highly recommend TO THE DEATH! to fellow fans of frontier cavalry novels and movies and I look forward to reading more books by Towns.
