Title: I Am Restored: Audio Bible Studies: How I Lost My Religion but Found My Faith
    Author: Lecrae Moore
    Narrator: Lecrae
    Format: Unabridged Audiobook
    Length: 1 hour 2 minutes
    Release date: June 29, 2021
    Genres: Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
The Audio Bible Study series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, I Am Restored includes high-quality, live audio sessions from the author that cover this important Bible-based topic. These sessions will reflect the ambiance of the unique recording locations, immersing the listener into the teaching. Two-time GRAMMY winning hip-hop artist and bestselling author Lecrae had inspired millions with his redemptive and gut-honest art. But when his personal life spun into chaos, he was forced to face the buried impact of the unhealed wounds—sexual abuse, physical trauma, addiction, and depression—that threatened to tear it all apart. Along the way, he realized the wounds we all carry through life have the potential to be unlikely guides to healing and freedom for ourselves and others. In this four-session study (study guide sold separately), Lecrae explains how this journey led him to realize that 'Christians operate in a functional state of chaotic living that has them bound and trapped in unhealthy patterns and habits without addressing deep root issues.' As a result, he began to develop some simple practices when the chaos strikes that have led him to greater mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This involved taking an honest and unflinching look not only at the 'chaos within' his own life but also the 'chaos without'—the hurt that so often occurs in culture, politics, family, the church, and other public spaces. I Am Restored reminds us that learning to let go and forgive is the birthplace for the life of creativity and freedom that God has for each us. It is an inspiring charge to embrace the lasting healing and restoration that is available to each of us now through Christ. It is also an encouragement to grab hold of the life God has for us. For no matter what we've experienced, God is near, he hears, and he's not done with us yet. Designed for use with I Am Restored Study Guide (sold separately).

He celebrates with the same joyful mindset of embracing 'every little win' along the way that his family has practiced for years. When Todd Tilghman, pastor and father of eight, auditioned for The Voice, he counted it as a win simply to sing in front of an audience. But despite not having any music or vocal training he won the show's entire eighteenth season! Fans loved Todd's rich voice, but they loved his exuberant joy even more. No one knew, though, that his joy came not from winning each round but from years of choosing light over darkness. In Every Little Win, Todd and Brooke share how their focus on joy and celebrating every little win has helped them to overcome numerous challenges over their twenty-plus-year marriage. From being on brink of divorce to parenting a critically ill child, from wrestled with Brooke's depression and Todd's food addiction to pastoring a small congregation through periods of adversity, Todd and Brooke share the lessons they've learned and the strategies that have moved them from fear to faith to ever-present joy. In Every Little Win, Todd and Brooke share how decades of unrelenting challenges taught them to celebrate not just the big wins but also every little win along the way. In this candid and vulnerable book, they encourage you to: - Take practical steps to move from fear to freedom and from freedom to joy - Make the choice to cling to God's goodness even in the hard times - Understand why your story—and your voice—matter to God and others   Every Little Win will inspire you not to wait for your struggles to pass or for a “big win” to bring you joy, but how to cultivate a habit of celebrating the small victories now so you don’t miss out on the amazing life that is already in front of you.

Title: Jesus Wars: How Four Patriarchs, Three Queens, and Two Emperors Decided What Christians Would Believe for the Next 1,500 years
    Author: Philip Jenkins
    Narrator: Tom Parks
    Format: Unabridged Audiobook
    Length: 10 hours 15 minutes

    Publisher's Summary:
The fifth-century political battles that forever changed the church. In this fascinating account of the surprisingly violent fifth-century church, Philip Jenkins describes how political maneuvers by a handful of powerful characters shaped Christian doctrine. Were it not for these battles, today's church could be teaching something very different about the nature of Jesus, and the papacy as we know it would never have come into existence. Jesus Wars reveals the profound implications of what amounts to an accident of history: that one faction of Roman emperors and militia-wielding bishops defeated another.

Title: Hope Beyond an Empty Cradle: The Journey Toward Healing After Stillbirth, Miscarriage, and Child Loss
    Author: Hallie Scott
    Narrator: Simona Chitescu-Weik
    Format: Unabridged Audiobook
    Length: 4 hours 52 minutes
    Release date: June 8, 2021
    Genres: Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Tens of thousands of women and families every year lose a baby to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. The statistics are sobering--between 10% and 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, 1% in stillbirth, and nearly 23,000 babies die before their first birthday--but statistics alone miss the depth of the hurt. Each loss is personal and devastating. No woman is prepared to lose a baby, and caregivers are often unaware of how best to help. In Hope Beyond an Empty Cradle therapist Hallie Scott first shares her own story, as a mother whose only child, Abigail, was stillborn, and then leads you through a healing process that makes space for heartbreak, despair, guilt, questions, and anger. Life is never the same in the wake of the loss, but a new normal is possible. The book will be a welcome resource for families who have lost a child, as well as for those seeking to care for them in their traumatic grief. Discussion questions are available in the audiobook companion PDF download.

  • Pope Francis and the Transformation of Healthcare Ethics by Todd A. Salzman, Michael G. Lawler

Title: Pope Francis and the Transformation of Healthcare Ethics
Author: Todd A. Salzman, Michael G. Lawler
    Narrator: Tom Parks
    Format: Unabridged Audiobook
    Length: 11 hours 5 minutes
    Release date: June 1, 2021
    Genres: Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Since its first edition in 1948, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops' Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERD) has guided Catholic institutions in the provision of health care that reflects both the healing ministry of Jesus and the Church's understanding of human dignity. However, while the papacy of Pope Francis and the clerical sex-abuse scandal both profoundly impacted the Catholic Church, the latest edition of the ERD does not address or reflect these transformations. Now for the first time, Todd A. Salzman and Michael G. Lawler present an extended critical commentary on the 2018 ERD. They argue that it is problematic in a number of ways. First, the revised ERD continues to prioritize a rule-based over a personalist-based ethical method, with an emphasis on absolute norms that proscribe specific medical acts. Further, it does not take into account Pope Francis's transforming ecclesiological, methodological, and anthropological visions, neither internally in Catholic health care institutions nor externally in collaborations between Catholic and non-Catholic health care institutions. Finally, the revised ERD provides no evidence that the bishops grasp how the clerical sex-abuse scandal and its cover-up have fundamentally undermined episcopal authority and credibility.

    Format: Unabridged Audiobook
    Length: 9 hours 46 minutes

    Publisher's Summary:
Do you wish you knew how to talk to people about life’s deepest and most sensitive topics? In The Listening Road, you’ll ride along on one man's remarkable 33-day journey cycling 3,000 miles across the United States on a mission to engage with people from all walks of life in real conversations about things that matter most. As a pastor, Neil Tomba noticed a disturbing trend among people in church: they were finding it increasingly difficult to talk about God to those outside of the church. Neil wanted to practice what he preached, so he set out to bike across the United States, talking—and, more importantly, listening—to strangers from all walks of life about faith, their stories, and matters of the heart. The Listening Road takes you on Neil’s remarkable journey across the country and straight into its soul—from Route 66 motels to state parks, a lake house, and a railway car; from conversations with Amish farmers to chats with truckers, cowboys, mechanics, and a descendant of Daniel Boone. From one city, farm, and highway to the next, we discover - practical, actionable ways to change our posture toward others to foster conversation, - why curiosity, kindness, and respect open up communication about God, and - how even in a culture of division and antagonism, real connection is possible. In our polarizing time, Neil models with compassion and curiosity that genuine connection happens only if we are willing to listen in love. Includes an audiobook-exclusive track with tips and thoughts on how to begin conversations that may open a pathway to talk about deeper spiritual topics and Jesus. Read by the author.
