The militarized, prohibition-based international Drug War has led to nothing but violence, suffering, and enrichment of criminal groups, politicians, and business interests. Colombia’s version of a Truth & Reconciliation Commission (La Comisión de la Verdad), established following the 2016 FARC peace accords that ostensibly ended the country’s 60-plus-year armed internal conflict, through thousands of interviews and document reviews, recently published a final report with findings & recommendations which included as one of its main points that the Drug War has only prolonged and intensified the conflict, and must end immediately.
