Good way to learn the language
Where does Romanian Phase 1, Unit 01-05 rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I liked all of the Pimsleur audiobooks I have listened to so far. Other language learning audiobooks don't measure up.
Who was your favorite character and why?
There really weren't any characters. You went from being a man talking to a woman to a woman talking to a man and back to being a man again quite often. It was good for practice and learning, but no storyline, so some people might get bored.
Which character as performed by the narrator was your favorite?
As before, there weren't any real characters.

This book does not lend itself to making a film.

Unlike many other language learning programs, it lets you practice putting the words in context from the beginning. This makes it easier to learn.
good verbal training
I have tried Duolingo and got so tired of practicing verb tense. this was a welcome companion to ankidtoid
Good basic lessons
Good pace, aid in pronunciation and comprehension. I would like the option of following a text sometimes.

The 'Pimsleur method' seems to be pseudoscientific nonsense, but once the narrator stops droning on about it and gets on with going through some basic conversations it's a fairly good course. It is well paced, covering useful beginners vocabulary and teaches pronunciation effectively. As a purely audio limited introductory course I would recommend it.
But, and it is a big but, the Pimsleur method is not a fan of any kind of text accompaniment, which seems strange to me. Babies learn language without it, but once we reach adulthood and invest a lot of the intervening time in developing the neural pathways to read and write, it's a little daft to ignore that avenue for learning.
