    Not the ordinary Bible Story
These stories are great. Accurate, and consistent with the original stories, this "remix" is done with a cast, music and sometimes sound effects. Engaging, entertaining and effective, each retelling packs a punch because of the unexpected impact of the originality. Just great listening for anyone who appreciates the stories from the Bible.
short but funny (will not save souls).
I know that almost half of bible information was cut out, making room for a short story with jokes and plenty of laughter . know the word or GOD 1st.

Title: Ecclesiastes and The Song of Solomon
    Author: Recorded Books
    Narrator: Adrian Cronauer
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 57 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-16-99
    Publisher: Recorded Books
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 9 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Bibles
    Publisher's Summary:
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven...." The author's name in Hebrew was Koheleth, but the Greek translators of the Old Testament rendered it as Ecclesiastes. Nothing is known about his life, but without his words, our language would be missing some of the most beautiful passages ever written.
    Editorial Reviews:
The King James version of two of the Bibles most unique sections, both traditionally attributed to King Solomon, are collected together in Ecclesiastes and The Song of Solomon.
Ecclesiastes is a pessimistic investigation into life and the follies of striving. Many attribute its tone to a Greek philosophical influence. By contrast, The Song of Solomon is a steamy exploration of sexual love. In one section, a woman speaks of her visit from her lover. In another, a man compares his lovers neck to the Tower of David.
With his deep, rumbling voice, Adrian Cronauers tone in his performance is, by turns, despairing and tenderly joyful as he tackles these two distinct books of the Bible.
    Members Reviews:
    sound quality the only problem
Adrian Cronauer, better known as the real DJ who inspired Robin Williams' character in the movie "Good Morning Vietnam", does an excellent job reading one of the most beautiful books of the Bible. Ecclesiastes is all poetry, and its message about living life to the fullest is ageless.
This version is the only recording of Ecclesiastes alone offered by Audible. (Other recordings of Ecclesiastes are available through Audible's several complete Bibles.) While Cronauer's rich voice does this reading of Ecclesiastes justice, this Audible version is made from an old recording and the sound quality is much muddier than most of Audible's offerings. Only available in Format 2.
    Great narration/Poor audio
This is an exceptional narration of these classic wisdom books, but the audio is quite poor.

    Length: 51 mins

    Release date: 02-06-17
    Publisher: Logos Bible Study
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Bibles
    Publisher's Summary:
When Cyrus the Great king of Persia allows the Jews to return home and rebuild Jerusalem, only 42,360 do (Ezra 2: 64), about 10% of the population. The rest stay behind in Assyria, Babylon and Persia. After all, it had been nearly 200 years since the Northern kingdom had been taken captive into Assyria and almost 70 years since the Southern kingdom had been taken captive to Babylon. The Jews had built homes, started businesses and settled into their new lives. The Book of Esther tells the story of those left behind in Persia.
Esther is a great story, filled with a beauty contest, plenty of sex, palace intrigue, double-dealing and shrewd maneuvering! As our story opens, Xerxes (485-465 B.C.) rules over all of Persia and he is planning to invade Greece. To gather support for his campaign he throws a huge party for all the important men of his kingdom. As the party deteriorates into drunken boasting, Xerxes and his wife, Vashti, clash; Xerxes divorces her; and he launches his campaign (483-480 B.C.). He is defeated by a coalition of Greek forces at the Battle of Salamis on September 29, 480 B.C.). Defeated and in a funk, Xerxes misses Vashti. To cheer Xerxes up, his retainers suggest a beauty contest throughout all 127 provinces of the Persian Empire. The winner from each province is brought to the palace at Susa, where she undergoes 12 months of beauty treatments and education. Xerxes then spends the night with each, and the one who pleases the king the most becomes his new queen. Esther wins the contest. Unbeknownst to Xerxes, Esther is a Jew.
Meanwhile, Haman, Xerxes number-two man, is insulted by Mordecai, Esthers uncle and adoptive father. Not satisfied with punishing Mordecai, Haman convinces Xerxes to kill every Jew living in Persia on the same day, March 7, 473 B.C. Risking her life by exposing herself as a Jew, Esther decides to intervene with the king.
    Editorial Reviews:
Dr. Bill Creasy of Logos Bible Study uses a literary, historical approach to examine and enliven the bible for modern listeners. Dr. Creasy draws on his studies, travels, and personal anecdotes to vividly depict the works of scripture. He speaks in a pleasant, friendly voice but with authority, frequently incorporating contemporary references. The programs are a lively combination of a sermon and college lecture.
In this episode, Dr. Creasy discusses Left Behind, Part 1 (Esther 1: 1-4: 17).
