It taught me that moving in is the best thing to do sometimes
This book is a surprise. It is historical in setting. It is made of romance and stuff but the end surprised me. It is more realistic than I thought. It taught me that moving in is the best thing to do sometimes. The girlfriend who loves happy ever after does not agree with the ending of this book but oh well... reality is. It happens most of the time.
Poorly written
The language in this book is stilted and awkward. The author uses words such as guys and kids which don't ring true to the period. And one minute the heroine is humble, but the next minute she is so proud that nobody likes her. Which is it? Shortly after the duke disappears, her parents want her to marry someone else, and her reaction is, Sure, why not?. So much for her great love. I couldn't wait to finish this book so I wouldn't have to read it any more.

Loved the book
Fairy tales don't come true
Lady Hannah goes to visit her aunt and stay with her while she is ill. One night they attend a ball and, while Hannah and her aunt are walking in the garden, it starts to rain. A tall, handsome man, a stranger, offers them his umbrella.
They learn the man is Duke Anthony Reece, and Hannah wonders if she will ever see him again.
They story is scattered with "okay" -- a word that did not exist during the Regency era.
Shallow
Too fast, too juvenile, too pat. I felt no depth or endurance in their relationship. Five more words are required.
