March 19, 2021 EP.35 "I COULDN'T LOOK AT MYSELF IN THE MIRROR" - IBS & WELLBEING
This week's episode is a bit of an emotional one! I was joined by a guest to discuss the impact of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) on her quality of life. Being a functional disorder, this condition is often not taken seriously by medical professionals as there's usually no structural "abnormality" or "problem" with the patient. This makes it difficult for non-IBS patients to understand as everything on the outside and even in scans and clinical tests seems "fine". However, IBS patients are far from fine. From social anxiety, to depression, debilitating gastrointestinal symptoms and even body dysmorphia, it is clear that IBS poses a huge burden to the wellbeing of patients. The goal is that more people feel comfortable talking about their symptoms, helping one another, and hopefully someday, an effective and long-lasting solution will be developed.

January 22, 2021 EP.31 HOW WE GOT GRADUATE JOBS IN A PANDEMIC 6 MONTHS BEFORE GRADUATION
This week's podcast is the first part of a professional development series. What gives us the right? Haha. Well Katy and I are both final year Biomedical Science students who worked at Pfizer during our industrial placement last year. We have now both secured ourselves employment in advance of graduation. Katy talked about the unconventional process of getting her Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) entry level position, and I discussed the steps that led to my Risk Advisory job offer from a Big 4 Firm. Lastly, we talked about where to look for graduate jobs, what we think made us stand out to employers, and some useful information we've learnt along the way.

December 11, 2020 EP.28 COPING WITH STRESS
A lot of people really enjoyed my last podcast about Imposter Syndrome, so I thought I would do another episode on Mental Health. Retail therapy has been my most effective coping mechanism recently. It hurts your wallet, but it definitely makes you feel better. A less costly alternative is yoga and chatting shit with friends haha.
