Terra Nostra was the theme of the 1998 edition of the Black and Blue Festival, in Montreal. I was asked to make a song that would be the last song played at the main event, closing the 7 days festival.

The philosophy was to unite all together during the same moment. Terras Nostra is latin for "Our Earth". The spoken vocals in the song are in four different languages: Arabic, Spanish, English and French. Our earth, as in the whole world, is constantly changing with every action, every decision, ever step each and everyone of us take. Mother Earth is an endless path always leading to you.

Words in all languages were projected on the walls, on the ceiling, on the ground, in the crowd, as the song played. It was a beautiful sight to see so many people being emotional. Some even were wiping their tears. Partners, hugging, eyes closed. Friends gathered round, arms on each others’ shoulders. People dancing, people swaying, everybody was smiling. This was the very first time anybody heard it, I never played it again, in any of my shows.

To this day, for all that it represents as well as the music writing, I consider Terra Nostra as a personal masterpiece.
