Melanie Oliveiro speaks with award-winning Singaporean author Emily Lim-Leh about her latest children’s book: “Little Hero”. It’s a work of fiction inspired by real-life events from the childhood years of the author’s father in post-war 1940s Singapore and beyond. Lim-Leh will discuss how she crafted the main character seven-year-old Ying Xiong, the talks she recalled of her father’s memories of the Japanese Occupation,  and how both adults and children will resonate with the various themes addressed in the book.
