As we speak, the Central Arkansas Library System’s new used bookstore Library Square Books is in the midst of its grand opening, until 6 p.m., at 405 President Clinton Ave. in Little Rock’s River Market District, with refreshments and giveaways and a limited number of commemorative items. Crown Jewel Cat Club is hosting “A Royal Cat Show Extravaganza,” a benefit for rescue organizations in the Little Rock and Maumelle areas featuring more than 30 pedigreed breeds, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at the Maumelle Community Center, 1100 Edgewood Drive, Maumelle. All-breed judges will examine competitors for Cat Fanciers’ Association titles based on health, temperament and conformation to breed standard.
