We asked him all kinds of questions that we needed answers too. He was releasing his final book called One Blood that very same day, and he talked with us in detail about his experience of racism, the challenge of the idea of reconciliation, the power of the Gospel, the need to reach out to people who are different from us, the need to LIVE OUT the Gospel and to share Jesus with others, and much more. Pick up Dr John Perkins latest book called One Blood.

This week we head to Memphis to spend some time with Dr. John M Perkins and stand in the place where Dr. Martin Luther King spent his last few hours. While in Memphis we went on a journey to find the people who knew Dr. King and talk to them about chasing down the abundant life in the midst of the racial tension of the past and present.

We draw on Chad's experience of being intentional in conversations to learn how we can bless the people around us during the day. What are the right things to say? If you’ve ever struggled to hear from God, or if you aren’t sure that God really talks with us, we created this discussion with you in mind. A lot of times Christians can go through seasons where we don’t really know how to differentiate from God’s voice and the other voices around us. Was that God’s voice I just heard, or was it just my imagination?

Jesus says, “My sheep know my voice.” and this means that we have it on good authority that God is actually communicating with us in a way that we can hear Him. This is good news!

In this episode, we learn more about how the Holy Spirit is the One who to help us hear from God. This is the first of a two part series with our friend Chad Johnson, who shares with us from a robust experience of daily interaction with the Holy Spirit. The idea of Listen, Connect, and Help is a powerful plan for making meaningful connections with people so that they can experience God's love through us.

Mr. Rogers was a man who really understood the power of Love, and he helped people experience the kind of Love that God has for each of us.

Christians have been confused over the years about evangelism, with popular sayings like "come out and be ye separate" and in turn thinking that we shouldn't associate with sinners. But Paul makes it clear in 1 Corinthians 5 that any separation we should do from people is NOT from everyday people in the world, (These are the very people we should RUN towards and love with everything we've got.) but rather we should separate ourselves from church-going people who claim to be Christians who are also intentionally immoral when they are confronted and do not begin to take on more of the Jesus kind of life.
