Live by the River : the Fulham Fan Podcast

Our 100th episode!!! No fanfare here Fulham fans - we're still digesting a Fulham win! Some lovely football played by Fulham but still some worrying underlying issues - we all hope that these can be addressed in the ensuing games.

We have a problem.... Weird scenes at the end of a brutal but inevitable loss at Ipswich - Sess clapping the fans looking gutted whilst Fulham's manager headed straight down the tunnel... Fulham fans, we have a lot to think about. As Mr Potato head said in Toy Story 3, "We're going into attic mode, folks. Keep your accessories with you at all times. Spare parts, batteries, anything you need for an orderly transition."

Berge has a shot on target.

Josh King is very good, so is Leno.

Arbaloa has a go at the referee.

Two comedy goals.

Did we really witness a Parker style, 'Parking the bus'?

Hyperbole from a pundit.

Welcome to Fulham.

(and a pod which has some variable sound levels!)

As Fulham fans wait for the Carabao cup 4th round draw tonight we reflect on another Fulham performance under Arbeloa which ranged from needless blunders to majestic passages of play. A necessary win before Fulham have their home game against Manchester United on Sunday!

Never in doubt........😂

How important is this point for Fulham and Arbeloa?  Only time will tell but a massive sigh of relief. A balanced and professional display by the Fulham team and manager.  I also go off on a SCR tangent (apologies!) but end the pod with a tiny drop of hope….and then go back to being anxious again. Join us midweek when we review Fulham's clash at the London Stadium against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup!

Crisis? What crisis…….?!  A hard look at the possibility of relegation as Arbeloa continues with his tactical philosophy.  Yes, some lovely football and the flourishing of Josh King, but our feeble defense negates everything that he and the teamhave worked so hard to achieve.

Fulham laid bare. Exciting times ahead but equally the inherent inbalance/strengths/weaknesses of the squad and the seemingly ad hoc manner in which signings are made (managers and players alike, now and historically) were obvious to see in this match. Will Arbeloa and the players manage to progress successfully? It's never easy being a Fulham fan!

Fulham win the 2nd round of the Carabao Cup and we were witness to some fine performances and a great set of travelling fans! Lovely passages of play by Fulham and important goals for Muniz, Smith-Rowe and Gonzalo. Who will Arbeloa pick for the match on Sunday and how will Fulham perform against Sunderland?

If we played this game in reverse would it have been any easier? No! it would have been worse with Chelsea getting a winner 32 seconds before the final whistle. ( So Fulham fans it could have been a lot worse. Still - quite a bit to be excited about, although have been ready to press the panic button!

(apologies about the poor sound quality of the pod in the 2nd half )

Hoping for a season of positive change,a focus on developing youth and developing our own dynamic football style. What could possibly go wrong....?!

Up the Fulham!
