SYNOPSIS:

Maddie’s parents Alexander and Virginia Hayes arrive in town from Chicago to attend the wedding of one of her father’s colleagues. Her mother confides that Maddie’s father may be having an affair and that the woman may have followed them from Chicago. Maddie is determined to prove her mother wrong and wants to conduct an investigation, and follow him for a day to see where he goes. David says YUK, you can’t do that, so he offers to take the case for her. Unfortunately at the end of the day, David has to break the bad news to Maddie about what he witnessed and that her father is indeed having an affair. Maddie cannot bring herself to tell her mother the truth, so instead launches a furious attack on her father, who then tells her that the affair is over and it will never happen again. This episode reveals a close relationship between Maddie and her parents, something which has not been mentioned before.
