Mark Harvey-Sutton is CEO of the Australian Livestock Exporters Council. His career has been varied in that he's worked for the Sheep Meat Council of Australia (now Sheep Producers Australia) and the Cattle Council of Australia as a policy director, as well as the Agriculture Department and other policy roles. There's not a lot about the fine print he doesn't know. In this episode he takes a candid approach to what the industry learned following the shock of the 2011 live export ban. He showcases the benefit of the production system to many international communities and how Australia can claim to be World leaders in animal welfare practises.
