Guitarist, composer, teacher, and clinician Ben Natti grew up in a small town in northern New Hampshire, where he started playing guitar at age 12. After growing up on rock guitar greats, he later discovered jazz and fusion, and began melding the styles together in his formative years.

After high school Ben attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he intensely studied improvisation, sight-reading, chordal playing, and honed his overall musicianship with teachers such as Chris Buono, John Baboian, David Gilmore, Jack Pezanelli, Norm Zocher, and Tim Miller.

After graduating from Berklee in 2009 with a degree in Guitar Performance, Ben spent two years teaching, writing and gigging in Boston before moving to NYC in the fall of 2011. Ben is now a working musician in NYC, and is currently the guitar player for recording artists Darnaa and French Montana, as well as an Off-Broadway and session guitarist. Ben is also the Founder and CEO of HAMtown Productions, his NYC-based live/studio music production company.

World music artist Eleanor Dubinsky was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, but through traveling and living in Europe, Latin and South America, found the voice of her own emotionality in the languages and cultures of other nationalities. The NYC-based chanteuse speaks French, Spanish, Czech, Portuguese and Italian, but her most fluent communication skills are through music.

“I can have empathetic experiences in multiple cultures to create music that moves me and moves other people,” the singer-songwriter explains. “Through my art and music, I want to reach people that don’t get paid attention to—I want to connect people.”

Dubinsky’s music encompasses the sultriness of bossa nova, the longing of soul, the vulnerability of folk, and the earthy sophistication of jazz.

I was pleased to have Carbon Mirage Perform Live From Studio Radio 45.

Listening to Carbon Mirage — on stage or otherwise — you can’t help but be moved. The band’s sound, a collision of both rock and jazz, takes the listener to another world be it a soft day dream or a stirred adventure.

An unexpected mixing of melodies, Carbon Mirage’s sound is big and full. With influences ranging from Radiohead to Miles Davis, Sun Ra to Jimi Hendrix, each track moves in dynamic waves, charting a symphonic journey filled with tension and release, joy and nostalgia.
