Hello, Hello and Welcome to Live in the Fraser Valley, the podcast that celebrates the richness and diversity of this beautiful place that we call home.
I am your host, Jasmine Bhambra, and I'm both nervous and excited to be launching this podcast. I am a mom of 4 and I wear many different hats in our community, and I am looking forward to sharing my story and how I came to be here in the upcoming episodes.
My intention with this platform is to elevate the voices of individuals and organizations who are doing important work in our community, and to create a space where we can discuss important issues like affordable housing, food security, and the mental health crisis. I believe that we can come up with better solutions and create a greater positive impact, together.
I want us to be able to use this platform to learn about and actively support Indigenous peoples' rights to self-determination, sovereignty, and land stewardship. Through this platform, I hope to be a good ally and advocate for the Indigenous peoples of this region by amplifying their voices and perspectives.
I am passionate about all the diverse communities in the Fraser Valley.
I hope to create an inspiring and educational space that will build a greater sense of understanding and unity within the community and help us to build bridges between different cultures.
I believe that by learning and growing together, we can build a safer, healthier, and more vibrant community where we can all thrive.
So, I invite you to join me on this journey as we share the stories, perspectives, and experiences of the people who live, work, and gather here. We have some pretty incredible guests coming up and I am so excited for all of us to meet them!
