What does it mean to be dead to the law, and how does that transform your life? For Saul, this change brought a new name, a new mission, and a new hope. As Paul, his life took a radical turn—from a Roman soldier to a passionate messenger of the gospel. In many ways, our own journeys in Christ mirror this transformation as we live rooted in God’s love and hope. Join us as we explore how Jesus’ work on the cross reshapes and renews our lives.
What shapes your destiny? Is it luck, good deeds, or chance? Our own desires, life experiences, and the world around us can tempt us to think that our future is uncertain or something we control. But God provides the true answer. Throughout Scripture, He reveals His love for us and the stark difference between living in His light and being enslaved to sin. In this message, Pastor Robbie will unpack Romans 6 to highlight the essential contrasts between the freedom found in serving God and the heavy price of being a slave to sin.

You may be able to talk the talk, but can you walk the walk? There is a reason people say that actions speak louder than words, and James would agree. In James 1:22-27, James shows his zealous heart for real fruit in genuine Christ followers. He calls us to be DOERS of the Word, not just HEARERS. The truth is, it can be easy to hear and do nothing. Some of us have done that for years - hearing sermons without letting them change our actions. James insists we have an outward demonstration of our inward faith, and if we don’t, we need to look in the biblical mirror. If our faith has no feet, then It is time for us to consider what it is we actually believe. Today’s message is about obedience, which stems from a love for our Saviour and not from ‘earning’ worth. Hearing, alone, does not make a Christ Follower - practical steps of obedience are the difference between life and death.
Salvation frees us from the penalty of sin, yet the presence of sin remains a daily reality and struggle for every follower of Christ. Though no longer enslaved or controlled by sin, we are called to live as those who are truly free. In today’s passage, the Lord commands us to “let not” sin reign in our bodies. This calls us to a life of obedience—actively resisting sin and making choices that honor God. As temples of the Holy Spirit, bought with the precious blood of Christ, we are called to live holy lives.

True salvation always brings about real transformation. As 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come!” (ESV). The moment we are justified—saved—is also the moment we begin the journey of sanctification. We leave behind our old life and step into a new life following Christ. Though sin continues to tempt us, as we grow in obedience, faith, and holiness while remaining connected to Christ, we find ourselves sinning less and less. And we carry this hope with us—that one day, in His presence, we will be made completely sinless forever.

The greatest gift we can receive is the gift of salvation. At the moment of conversion, we are justified—saved from the penalty of sin, declared innocent, and clothed in the righteousness of Christ. But that’s just the beginning! From that point on, we enter the lifelong journey of sanctification—growing in faith, bearing spiritual fruit, and becoming more like our Savior, Jesus. This process continues throughout our lives until the day we are glorified—made perfect in Christ and completely free from the presence of sin.
Today’s sermon, brings us to James 1:19-21, a crash course on character. James has been consistently firing massively important subjects at us so far in this series, and today is no exception. Again, James challenges us as believers to put feet to our faith and prove its authenticity through how we live. We aren’t saved to be dormant, we are saved to produce fruit! Character is a great indication of the fruit in our lives. Our character is best seen through how we listen, how we speak and how we address our anger. With clarity, James teaches we must be slow to speak and quick to hear - how often do we live like this command is reversed? We must TRASH our sin, and put on the Word of God. But if we want to do that, what anger needs to stop? What words need to stop? And what listening needs to start?
