  • Welcoming Greater Light Through the Veil of Darkness: Chanukah's Eighth Day

The eighth day of Chanukah is also called "Zot Chanukah" or "this is Chanukah" because it captures the essence of the holiday.

In this class, we explore the two opinions of Beit Hillel and Beit Shamai about seeing the actual now vs accessing potential.

How do we surrender to a great place of oneness and release our limiting beliefs? Why do we mention the wars and challenges? Chanukah entails us sitting with our darkness and realizing that it, too, is light waiting to be transmuted.

On Zot Chanukah, the full candelabra of light shines and dispels the darkness, opening ourselves for a vaster, infinite light of the essence of G-d.

We take this into the 9th day and beyond when we do not see the light. However, we see a greater light, which we no longer mistake as just darkness. It is light waiting to be recognized. This is- Zot Chanukah.

  • Spiritual Tips For Survival In The War of Gog and Magog

In these trying times, we are facing unprecedented levels of attacks on Israel and Jews both physically and through unbiased reporting in the news and on social media.

In last week's class, we explored whether the war we are engaging in is the war of Gog and Magog spoken about in the Tanach in the books of Ezekiel and Zecharia. We brought various sources and got a clearer understanding of what this war was about. Here is a link to that video.

Many of us are facing and forced to face for the first time in our lives the horror of war, which brings up so much intensity and unknowns.

In today's class, we will delve into spiritual tips brought by our Sages to survive this war. In essence, we will look into what we are called to do. We will explore what we should focus on and how to shift our perspective from fear and anxiety to access our powerful lights.

So many of our brothers and sisters are doing this now in Israel and worldwide, stepping up their game and into their true greatness as individuals and as a collective.

  • Eradicating Evil- Israel's Eternal War on Amalek and Hamas

Amalek is a nation considered the eternal nemesis of the Jewish people. They were the first to attack the Israelites as they came out of Egypt, instilling fear and doubt in their minds and hearts.

Our Sages teach us that Amalek has the same numerology as doubt and that the etymology is a composite of the word "Malak," which means to sever. The Amalekites were brutal and savage, severing the heads of their enemies.

The Talmud says, "The name of G-d is not complete and his throne not full until Amalek will be destroyed.

In each generation, we are entrusted to "remember" and "never forget" what Amalek the nation and Amalek the kilpa- husk or negative trait has done to us, and we have a Mitzvah-a- a command to eradicate Amalek from our hearts and well as from the earth.

The war against Amalek is a spiritual one. In the Israelite's first war against Amalek, Moshe says, "Choose for me men who will fight Amalek." The Talmud says that these warriors were exceedingly righteous, and whenever "Moshe lifted his hands the Israelites won and when he lowered his hands the Amalekis won.

The Rambam says that for the world of good and loving kindness to be present, we must first eradicate Amalek. This is the job of Moshiach to fully do before the Third Temple can be built.

Tune in today's class on Israel's war on Amalek as we understand this eternal war of good vs. evil in our current war against Hamas and evil.

  • The War of Light vs. Darkness- And Light Will Prevail

In a matter of less than a few days, the lives of millions of Israelis, Jews, and Gentiles from around the world were changed.

To say that the war and the horrific pain and grief are staggering is an understatement.

We under 50 generations in Israel have never experienced the intensity we have seen in the last few days.

We have come from close to a month of Holidays culminating with Simchat Torah, one of the most joyous days on the calendar. Simchat Torah was never more stark than the one we experienced.

It is known that Simchat Torah is associated with the completion of the Torah and the beginning of the Torah again in Beresheit- Genesis.

The first Parsha we read and live with this week is Beresheit-Genesis, the story of creation, man's downfall, the rivalry of Cain and Abel, and the decadent generation of the flood. The creation of light and darkness is one of the most esoteric parts of the Parsha. Light-Or is called- Tov, good, whereas darkness tests our resolve of living on the superb potential Hashem intends for us.

This year and right now, we are called to go to war with darkness from the outside but, more importantly, from the inside.

There is no longer time to self-doubt and asses; in a time of war, you do.

Light will prevail in this war of light vs. darkness, and the time is now!
