Live: Latest on heavy rainfall across multiple districts in Beijing
The #Beijing municipal government has upgraded its #rainstorm warning to yellow, the third highest level, and activated citywide flood-control emergency response measures on Sunday morning. Starting from the afternoon of July 27, most areas of Beijing, the capital of China, are expected to experience hourly rainfall exceeding 30 millimeters, according to the China Meteorological Administration.
Districts including Yanqing, Huairou, Miyun, Pinggu, Shunyi, Changping, Mentougou, Fangshan, Haidian and Shijingshan may see hourly rainfall surpassing 50 mm in some areas, with total accumulation exceeding 70 mm over six hours – and possibly more than 100 mm in isolated locations.
