06 AUGUST 2025 MESSAGE:

Thanks for tuning in.

Podtube is moving to a new system designed to better serve its community—with one important change: it now requires user registration. Don’t worry—a Free tier is available to everyone, so anyone can join.

Why the shift?

The new system aims to tackle some tough challenges:

- First, we’re removing bots and automated abuse that were draining server resources.

- Second, we’re improving the infrastructure so things run smoother and faster.

- Third, this is a human-focused upgrade—we want features that support real users.

- And finally, it’s about financial sustainability—to ensure Podtube can keep running and evolving long into the future.

What’s in it for you?

Benefits vary based on your membership tier, but here are just a few highlights:

- Feed filters to include or exclude Lives, Shorts, and regular videos.

- No self-advertising insertions for paid tiers.

- Extended feed scans—up to 100 videos on first setup.

- Higher update frequency for your feeds.

The new interface is also designed to be friendly for vision-impaired users, making Podtube more inclusive for all.

To see what’s available at your tier, check the link in the description.

Now, here’s the roadmap for transitioning from the old system to the new system:

- User registration is already open.

- Creation of feed links in the old system has been disabled.

- By mid-August 2025, updates to old feed links will stop.

- And by the end of August 2025, audio download through old links will be disabled, completing the full migration to the new Podtube system.

To register, you first need to become a member of our Patreon group—any tier counts, even the Free tier. Details are in the episode description. We hope you’ll join us as Podtube enters this exciting new phase.

Thanks for listening!

Over the past 20 years since the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" was introduced, China has promoted green development guided by ecological conservation, reshaping its cities and contributing Chinese wisdom to the global sustainable development. During an earlier interview with CGTN's Wang Guan, UN-Habitat Executive Director Maimunah Mohd Sharif Rossbach and UNOPS Executive Director Jorge Moreira da Silva shared their views on China's green transition and its global importance.

In an exclusive interview with CGTN's Tian Wei, Iain Begg from the London School of Economics (LSE) warns that U.S.-driven uncertainty is disrupting global trade and investment, threatening economic growth. China, he notes, remains resilient, focusing on the long game. Many countries see U.S. tariffs as a "bad policy," yet comply reluctantly to preserve trade deals. The recent 50 percent U.S. tariffs on Indian exports sparked public backlash, making India a key test of Washington's pressure tactics.

From the snow-covered plains of Northeast China to the blazing sands of the Taklamakan Desert, from the blue seas along Zhejiang's coast to the misty tea forests of Yunnan's Jingmai Mountain, a green revolution has been quietly taking shape across China. They are the desert warriors fighting shifting dunes, the ocean guardians sailing through wind and rain, and the forest rangers patrolling remote woods to protect precious wildlife. In barren deserts and trash-covered beaches, day after day, these individuals are turning deserts green, helping seas turn blue again – and all of this is happening in China. China's Green Revolution tells the story of how ordinary people, over the past twenty years, have been working hard to create new and exciting possibilities for Earth's future. #ChinasGreenRevolution

The concept that "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" has been implemented across China for the past two decades, with local models developing organically according to the unique resources and needs of each area. In this episode of "Discovering Green China," CGTN's Huang Yichang travels to northwest Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, where former mining pits have been transformed into thriving vineyards. This land, once deformed by mining in order to sustain its inhabitants, is now healing – and nourishing – by the cultivation of vines.

A young #Iranian, Fereshteh Mokhtari, also known as Su Mengjie, began learning #Chinese in 2017. Her Chinese name was given by a friend – it means a person with pure and beautiful dreams, and it suits her personality perfectly. At first, she found Chinese very challenging; the tones and characters led many of her classmates to give up. But she persevered and expanded her scope into Chinese culture, forging a lasting connection with China.

Her first job was as an interpreter at an international expo, where she met kind and enthusiastic Chinese partners, further fueling her passion for the language and culture. Later, she began creating short videos introducing Chinese culture to Iranians, quickly gaining 70,000 followers and becoming an internet celebrity in Iran. Eventually, Mengjie became a tour guide, leading Chinese tourists around Iran and sharing her country's history and culture. Seeing their curiosity and enthusiasm, and hearing that they would recommend Iran to others when they returned home, brought her great joy and pride. For her, learning Chinese was not just an academic choice – it opened a new path to success in her life.
