Poetry On Life

Live Life As It Comes Your Way

Listen Later

Rain, that which soothes the agony of parched lands
Footprints, that which seek the warmth of wet sands,
There is a secret, unfulfilled, longing within each heart
However strong or weak the being, stands
For, nothing is ever full and complete that we see
That is the norm of fickle, Mistress Destiny,
The one who nothing and no one does respect
Its final “striker”, the sword of mortality .
What is true of Man is also true of Nature
The bare tree, a cold, shivering, creature,
That awaits its leaves and its friends, the birds
Migration, their eternal, seasonal feature.
Impermanence, the only code of conduct
The same being often changing the most,
The vibrancy of youth, those tales of derring-do
Then, nothing more than the, pathetic, nostalgia boast.
Reconciling to and Accepting that which comes our way
The wise rules by which the Game of Life to play,
Sermons, speeches, sages, pages, tell us no more
These two words sum up all that Philosophy has to say.
