Coming from a long line of musical talent, Xharlie Black inherited his velvety voice from his great uncle Nat King Cole, and much like his father Edward Cole, who was the musical director for Natalie Cole , Xharlie black toured the world as co- musical director and drummer for the legendary Nas. He has worked with other greats such as Robert Glasper , Ms. Lauryn Hill, and helped bring musical sensation Alina Baraz to the masses.

On this episode of the Live Like An Acrobat Podcast, host Shenea Stiletto interviews Founder of the Las Vegas Circus Center Michelle Hunt. She together with her husband Brand Hunt founded the center in 2018, and all of the center’s setups are designed to exact specifications of Strip shows for the athletes’ convenience, which explains why so many artists from Cirque, Spiegelworld and other shows spend so much time training here. The massive warehouse space offers plenty of space for weightlifting, aerobic workouts and dance training in addition to its vast collection of specialized circus arts apparatuses, everything from teeterboards to Russian swings. There’s even an “American Ninja Warrior”-style stunt course.

On this episode of the Live Like An Acrobat Podcast celebrating the generations of Circus Artists, host Shenea Stiletto interviews handbalancer, contortionist, and inventor Ricardo Sosa who was born in Havana, Cuba. Ricardo began studying ballet when he was six years old. At seventeen, he enrolled in the Yuri Mandich Circus School in Havana, the national, Russian-style state circus school. There, he trained for four years to be a professional circus performer. In 1994, while performing in Colombia at Circo Egred Hermanos, Ricardo and other performers in the Cuban troupe defected. It was a huge scandal in Havana: Never before had such an important group of performers defected. For Ricardo Sosa, it was the beginning of a new career.

Ricardo has since settled in the United States, where he has worked extensively in nightclubs, casinos, and circuses, including Circus Circus and the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada; Teatro ZinZanni in Seattle, Washington and San Francisco, California; Universoul Circus; and Circus Sarasota. He has also embarked on an international career, appearing with Circo Moira Orfei in Italy and numerous variety shows in Germany, notably with GOP Varieté and Palazzo.

Celebrating Black Creators for Black History Month 2022, host Shenea Stiletto interviews Edmond Clark, a Toronto-based American & Canadian thespian and Magician. Recently, he was awarded as an Official Selection in the short film showcase at the 2021 Diversity at Cannes Film Festival corner, for the film: 'End of the World' (written by Caleb John Cushing and directed by Sarah Lang). Edmond also appeared in the Magic Immersive Exhibit, which uses 3d projections, and live magicians. This is the first time audiences can marvel at the greatest illusions up close.
