BIO: Grant Haber 

Grant Haber is one of America's foremost training and technology experts specializing in proactively countering the most strategic and lethal weapons used by Terrorists: Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). 

In 1995, Haber founded American Innovations, Inc. and, soon after, began working with explosive trace detection and blast mitigation technologies, followed by the creation of the United States’ first, fully integrated security checkpoint in 2000, utilizing explosive detection portals, x-ray systems, and metal detectors. Then, in 2002, came his first test method performance standard for bomb resistant trash cans. 

In 2005/2006, Haber served on the Rockland County, New York, Homeland Security Task Force. 

In 2007, came the ability of US Troops to differentiate bomb making materials from harmless legal fertilizers, a necessity for force protection and civilian trust-building -- another Haber initiative. To follow this was Haber’s work with DOD to create the first bulk homemade explosives precursor identification kit, which made it possible to seize 440 tons of bomb-making materials in 2012 and eliminated unwarranted arrests. 

Most recently, Haber developed a turnkey whole of government program to address the White House priorities for Afghanistan – 1.) Reduce American Casualties, 2.) Decrease War Costs, and 3.) Prevent a Vacuum. Department of Defense was, also, enabled by Haber to overcome illiteracy challenges through the use of visual. The imperative was to “get it right” in order better to protect US civilians and first responders. 

A plethora of training programs and thousands of trained warfighters, peacekeepers, police officers, and contractors are attributed to Haber’s involvement and leadership innovations. In fact, as a volunteer, Haber personally trained 1,850 (+/-) United States Military Academy, West Point cadets and conducted bottom-up briefings to the Joint Staff, Joint Rapid Acquisition Cell, Army Leadership, Congressional Leadership, Combat Commanders, and Senior Enlisted Advisors. 

Under Haber’s volunteered service at TAPS 4-day Suicide Good Grief Camps, he developed the ability better to appreciate, and then educate others, on the weighing impact facing the 400,000 US Military Traumatic Brain Injuries that resided as the basis for mounting veteran suicides. Moreover, this evolved into donating gifts to children of the country's fallen heroes. 

Haber’s influence has supported domestic and foreign government labs, military leaders, and subject matter experts who analyze and counter enduring, imminent, or emerging threats. And, among his highest priorities has been to serve as an enabler to ensuring detection, identification, and mitigation technology to become the most effective deterrent for protecting military, police, and civilians from simple to complex attacks. Furthermore, Haber has helped to shape and deliver education on policy and capability gaps, among other things, for the benefit of maintaining an edge, saving lives, and mitigating taxpayer burden.

The requirements set forth in the Constitution of these united states of America and the oath I took in 1971 to uphold and defend said constitution.

2. Define the role of a public servant.

The public servant is elected by We the People do to the will of those people as long as the "doing" is within the confines of the law.

As a US Congressman, that means the Constitution of these united states of America.

3. Name the top issue you want to address and why?

Return and maintain the federal purse and laws (so-called), to only address and fund those items stated as permissible in the Constitution of these united states of America.

With these basic truths, I would conduct my work as the U. S. Congressman from Michigan’s 6th District.

About Sam Williams:

Sam was born May 1, 1964 in St Petersburg Fl to Samuel and Carol Williams. My father was an import auto mechanic and my mother a beautician. I am the oldest of 4 children I have 1 brother and 2 sisters.

In 1977 we moved from St Petersburg to Arcadia Florida a small town 80 miles southeast of St Petersburg. After graduating high school in June 1982, I moved to Franklin NC to attend Western Carolina University. After 2 semesters in computer programing I enlisted in the United States Army. I attended Basic Training at FT Knox KY on July 19th, 1983 starting my military career that spanned 3 decades, 5 Continents and 15 different countries. During my military service I accumulated 95 month of Combat and served almost 14 years overseas. I have 3 children Scott, Brian, and Jennie. My wife Hae Yon (Grace) were married April 24, 1987 in Seoul, South Korea. I have 4 grandchildren Isabella, Elijah, Joseph and Jameson. I was assigned to FT Bliss in June of 2011 after volunteering for an assignment to deploy to Iraq in support of operation New Dawn with the intent of retiring to the El Paso area upon redeployment from Iraq. On March 31st 2013 I retired from the United States Army. We have made our home here in El Paso.

Mark David Gonsalves, 59, was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the son of first generation Americans, Beatrice and Lenine Gonsalves.

He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, where he earned a BS degree in Accounting. 

Upon graduation, Mark started his career in IT recruitment at Corico Corporation in Salem, NH. After three years, Mark was recruited by New Boston Associates in Woburn, MA to pioneer a new IT Recruiting Division. Within 6 months it was the top performing division in the company. Thereafter, Mark founded Integrity Software Resources, Inc. in Lynnfield, MA.

After several years in business Mark was recruited to become Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Adams Golf, a small golf club manufacturer in Richardson, Texas. Within a year the company grew 4-fold, to $4 million in sales, reaching profitability for the first time in the company’s 9-year history.  Three years later sales grew to $90 million and was named by Inc. as the 4th fastest growing private company in the United States, before going public in 1997. 

In 2001, Mark and his wife Donna purchased a private buying club franchise in Dallas and renamed it DirectBuy. He engineered an innovative television marketing plan that expanded the company network from 67 to 168 locations within 4 years. DirectBuy was sold to a private equity firm for $550 million, an increase in valuation of over $540 million during that time.

After the company was sold, Mark became a real estate investor in both the United States and Mexico, buying undervalued premium properties, improving and reselling them. 

Mark has also taken special assignments in a number of companies in need of new vision and leadership. He has served as CEO of the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, SC. Most recently, he directed the acquisition of Nature’s Brands Inc., known for their portfolio of over 150 Certified Organic products in personal care, body care and whole-food supplements and rebranded a UK-based nutritional supplement company. 

An avid golfer and sports enthusiast from his college days where he earned Honorable Mention All-American Division III Golf honors, he continues to support young golfers in competition. 

Mark and his wife Donna have resided in Johns Creek for the past five years and are the parents of one daughter, Taylor, currently enrolled at the University of Alabama. Mark is seeking the Republican nomination in the 7th Congressional District in Georgia.

About Aja Smith   TSgt. Aja Smith (Vet) has dedicated her career to serving her country. Following in the footsteps of her family, Aja decided at a young age that she wanted to help preserve the great freedoms that our country was founded upon.   Aja grew up in Moreno Valley, California and was raised by both her mother and grandmother who worked long hours as nurses, providing for Aja and ensuring she had every opportunity that her peers had. Both of Aja’s Grandparents served in the U.S. Military. Her Grandfather was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. David Fegan was born in Fort Worth and lived his entire life in Colleyville, Texas.  David holds tightly to his strong conservative values and demonstrated those values by working on multiple state and local campaigns including serving as one of the top campaign staff members for Governor Gregg Abbott’s campaign in Lubbock, TX. 

David Fegan is an activist in his community by actively helping a non-profit service organization known as Gate House, a shelter and haven of safety for up to ninety battered women and their children. His father developed the infrastructure for the project. David carries the family torch of service and legacy as an active volunteer.

David Fegan studied Arabic Languages at Texas Tech University. He is fluent in Arabic and therefore actively volunteers to help translate for 6-Stones, another non-profit outreach in Euless which serves the underprivileged in the community. Additionally, David is self-taught in Spanish and volunteers to teach English as a second language at a non-profit organization.

Judy developed Trauma-Conscious Yoga methodology in 2007 from her therapy work with an U.S. Army Ranger diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) easing his journey and extending the length and quality of his life.  Trauma-Conscious Yoga is based on the understanding that trauma is held in the cells of the body and mind – it is physiological rather than psychological.  Reconnecting the body and mind with the synchronization of conscious breath, movement and concentration in a safe, secure and predictable environment supports healing and wellness.  This protocol has been used in 3 university clinical studies and is currently being used by Connected Warriors and other health care practitioners. 

As a member of Yoga Alliance Advisory Board, On-line Presenter and part of their Core Curriculum Working Group Judy has been able to share her passion for this practice of yoga to support the yoga community. She has also been a significant contributor to the YSC book “Best Practices for Yoga for Veterans”.  Judy is honored to use her body of knowledge as she continues to lead certified yoga teacher trainings, workshops and lectures across the U.S at yoga conferences, festivals, universities, yoga studios and other locations.
