I think I spend too much time on PowerPoint creating my presentation slides, do you have any tips to save time or make less laborious?

This is a very common challenge and query from up-and-coming speakers.

Roger and Pascal share their own personal approach to planning and designing presentations using Powerpoint, when NOT to use Powerpoint, and why you should always plan for something to go wrong with the tech.

The Menu (2022)

A look back at two clever marketing tactics inspired by the film 'The Menu', the darkly satirical thriller set in the world of exclusive fine dining.

1. The Power of Straplines:

The filmโ€™s marketing leaned heavily on its witty straplines:

"Painstakingly Prepared. Brilliant Execution."

"A FINE PLACE TO DI(N)E"

"ONE PERCENTER DI(N)E HERE"

"MOVIE STARS DI(N)E HERE"

2. Inventing Restaurant Review:

To build intrigue, the marketing team โ€œleakedโ€ a fake review from a fictional food critic, supposedly invited to the filmโ€™s central restaurant, Hawthorn. The review read:

โ€œDining at Hawthorn is an experience unlike any other. The chefโ€™s menu is a masterclass in precision, creativity, andโ€”dare I sayโ€”danger. Each course is a revelation, but itโ€™s the final act that truly takes your breath away. Five stars for flavour, one star for survival odds.โ€

These one-liners and imagined restaurant reviews perfectly captured the filmโ€™s blend of culinary artistry and sinister suspense, making it instantly memorable.
