LiVeLifeBHappy24/7 (Un-PLUGD) "The Heart of Global Creativity"

What happens when music becomes more than entertainment—it becomes purpose, culture, storytelling, and legacy?

On Episode #2 of LiveLifeBHappy24/7 (UN-PLUGD), host JonVA Ven goes beyond the music with internationally recognized songwriter, lyricist, producer, and reggae artist AKUSTIX.

AKUSTIX opens up about his musical journey, his family's deep musical roots, the people and experiences that shaped his artistry, and the legacy that continues to influence his work. The conversation also explores his JUNO Award-nominated song “Mandela” and his highly anticipated new single “People’s President,” created in collaboration with renowned guitarist and producer Eugene Grey.

But this conversation goes deeper.

JonVA and AKUSTIX explore the power of conscious reggae, cultural storytelling, unity, hope, and social responsibility, while also examining an increasingly important issue for today's independent creators: knowing your rights.

Through his affiliation with the Creator Rights Movement, AKUSTIX discusses ownership, masters, publishing, copyrights, intellectual property, and why artists need to understand the business behind the music.

From music and message to family, legacy, and creator rights, this is an intimate conversation about the artist behind the record—and the importance of protecting the creator behind the art.

The Music. The Message. The Legacy. The Movement.

Go UN-PLUGD with AKUSTIX & JonVA Ven.

In Episode #1 of LiveLifeBHappy24/7 (UN-PLUGD), host Jonva sits down with veteran Jamaican dancehall Artist, DJ, songwriter, and Creator Rights Movement spokesperson Frankie Sly for an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation about music, culture, creativity, ownership, and legacy.

From growing up in Rockfort, Kingston, to becoming part of Jamaica’s influential sound system culture and reaching the global stage, Frankie Sly shares the experiences that shaped his journey as an artist. He reflects on his work with Dave Kelly and the Mad House Crew, his signature recordings, and the creative journey surrounding Murderer.

The conversation goes beyond the music to explore one of the most important issues facing today's creators: knowing your rights and understanding the business behind your art.

Frankie shares his perspective on publishing, contracts, royalties, copyright, intellectual property, and ownership—and why artists need to understand these areas before releasing their music. He also discusses the mission of the Creator Rights Movement, its advocacy work, and the importance of educating and empowering creators worldwide.

As dancehall continues to evolve in the streaming era, Jonva and Frankie explore compensation, the future of the genre, and what it means to build a lasting legacy as a creator.

And we wrap things up with a fun Lightning Round—Dancehall or Reggae? Studio or Stage? Lyrics or Beat? Legacy or Fame?
