The story continues to unfold from Sarah's memoir, Finding Gideon. The EMT workers have scraped her off the track and are heading to a hospital, and we see a little more of the backstory of how she got to this place.

New to the podcast? If you love inspirational stories, this is the one you'll want to follow.
Check out the synopsis of
Finding Gideon, a memoir

A horse, a dog, and a long-time dream coming together- what more could a girl want?

Since the day I read my first Thoroughbred series book in fifth grade, I imagined crouching over the withers of a racehorse, feeling its muscles bunch together and release with each stride. But I wanted more than an image in my mind, I wanted it in real life.

It was my junior year of college when I left home to chase the dream, and for a minute I had it between my fingers. Gideon rode in the horse trailer and Sandi was curled into a ball on the backseat when we moved to Louisville. Within two weeks I pounded down the track on young Thoroughbreds, impressing trainers with my bravery and skill. But soon, piece by piece, it began to crumble. Holding onto the dream, and my faith, was like grabbing water by the fistful and watching it slip between my fingers.

How could I keep going in this land of strangers and broken dreams? How could I trust the God who gives, when He’s also the God who takes away?

But how could I quit, when the dream still stirred in my bones, and Gideon was out there somewhere and needed me to find him?

Who doesn't love a good horse book? And who doesn't love chatting horses? If the answer is "not me," I'm not sure this episode is for you, but give it a try and see!

This week, new author Sarah Welk Baynum is on the show to chat all things horses and books. We commiserate over off the track Thoroughbred shenanigans, track changes from editors, and where to find good new music (and does it even exist?).

To find Sarah's books, just go to Amazon! I'll make it easy for you. Here's the link: Impelled on Amazon

I find that almost all the lessons I learn around horses can be applied to regular life. Last month I welcomed a new horse into the family. He's my first young project in a decade, and it's put me in a reflective mood. In this episode, I share some of my favorite pieces of wisdom I've picked up over the years - for horses and life.

Want to follow my journey with the new horse on Instagram (where I'm spamming everyone with adorable horse reels)? Check out @liveridelearn

Have you ever had a dream come true, only to be met with tough emotions you didn't expect? Have you ever been on vacation and found yourself frustrated because you're pulled from your daily routine or to-do list?

This week something I have been working toward for months finally came together, and I was heartbroken over it. It was the last thing I expected. I thought I would be giddy, like a school girl who walked out to the mailbox to find a new pony! Instead, I've spent the week swallowing back tears at inopportune moments.

When I logged onto my computer to interview Melynda, the last thing I expected was a coaching call with me at the center. Melynda guides us on a deep dive into choices, habits, emotions, and how to gain better control of all of them.

I hope this interview enriches your life as much as it has mine.

~Sarah, host of LiveRideLearn

All the details we promise during the episode:

Melynda refers to a previous episode where I talk about making lists! Here's the link. (PS this was one of my first episodes and WOW have things grown!)

Melynda is AMAZING and gifting us a FREE habit tracker! Just go to this web page and scroll down: https://www.cognitiveagilityllc.com/habit-tracker

Have some stuff to work through? I HIGHLY recommend booking a discovery call with her. Honestly all those negative emotions are GONE after our interview (I'm honestly wondering where they wondered off to). https://course.cognitiveagilityllc.com/bookacall
