Sarai's name is changed to Sarah. She is promised her own son. God says the promise will be through him. Abraham pleads for Ishmael too. Nothing is too impossible for God.

Abram's name changed to Abraham. Covenant of Circumcision. Baptism. Outward sign of the inner heart. How open are you to God?

Hagar and Ishmael. Children are always from God. He is responsible for conception. Companionship and taking responsibility. Having patience versus taking action. Discerning God's will. The God that sees, hears, and is Living.

Abram will have his own son. Faith and works. Righteousness. Eternity. His way and His time.

Abram rescues Lot. He meets with Melchizedek. Priests, Kings, Sacrifices. Jesus is our Priest, and our King, and our Sacrifice. The law and grace, sacrifice and salvation.

Thinking of others. Living at peace. Careful of your surroundings. The promised land.

Abraham is called. He steps out in faith but then lets his fear get the better of him. God intervenes.
