What If You Looked at Life Differently?
In this episode of Living a Full Life, Mike Davis explores a simple but powerful idea: we learn to see what we prepare ourselves to see.
Our problems, disappointments, worries, and frustrations can easily become the foreground of our lives. But what happens when we learn how to look again - to notice the possibilities, the people who care about us, the goodness that surrounds us, and even God's presence in the middle of it all?
Join Mike for a thoughtful conversation about perspective, relationships, faith, and the choices we have about what we allow to shape the way we live our lives.
Have you ever found yourself wondering, “Isn’t there more to life than this?”
It's a simple question, but sometimes a simple question can open the door to something much bigger.
Most of us spend our days doing what life asks of us. We work, we take care of the people we love, we deal with the unexpected, we celebrate the good things, and we try to make our way through the difficult ones. And most of the time, that's enough to keep us pretty busy.
But every now and then, perhaps when things get quiet, we may find ourselves wondering if there's something more beneath the surface of all of this.
What are we really here for? Where does God fit into all of this? What gives our lives meaning? And how do we become the people we really want to be?
Those aren't always easy questions, and they certainly don't have simple answers. But I think they're worth asking.
In this opening episode, Mike Davis shares some of his own experiences and begins a conversation about what it means to look a little deeper into our lives. Not to escape from the everyday world, but to become more aware of what is happening right in the middle of it.
Sometimes that means paying closer attention to the people around us. Sometimes it means taking a second look at the choices we're making or the assumptions we've carried for years. And sometimes it simply means being willing to stop and wonder.
Because perhaps we don't grow by having everything figured out.
Perhaps we grow by staying curious, asking honest questions, listening to one another, and remaining open to where the journey might lead.
So that's where we'll begin.
Isn't there more to life than this?
Let's explore that question together.

What does it mean to live a full life?
We explore faith, relationships, purpose, and the everyday questions that help us make sense of being human.
Hello, I'm Mike Davis, and for more than four decades I've been exploring spiritual questions about life through ministry, teaching, pastoral counseling, writing, and storytelling.
In Living a Full Life, we'll explore the deeper questions that often lie just beneath the surface of our busy lives.
This isn't a podcast about having all the answers.
It's an invitation to enter into conversations that may challenge us, encourage us, or give us something new to think about.
We'll talk about God and faith, and we'll also talk about relationships, purpose, meaning, suffering, hope, forgiveness, love, and the everyday choices that shape the people we become.
But throughout the series, the goal is to explore what it means to live a deeper, more meaningful, and more intentional life.
So bring your questions.
Bring your doubts.
Bring your experiences.
And perhaps most importantly, bring your curiosity.
Welcome to Living a Full Life.
Honest questions.
Spiritual wisdom.
Real life.
