Is your hair shedding more than usual? Is your part getting wider? Does your hair suddenly feel thinner, drier, or just… different?
You’re not imagining it. Changes in your hair can happen at different stages of life, and sometimes they can clue you into what’s happening beneath the surface. Hormones can certainly play a role—but they’re only ONE piece of the puzzle.
Hormonal shifts, genetics, stress, nutrition, thyroid changes, iron deficiency, medications, and certain medical conditions can all influence hair loss.
With all the information out there about supplements (Biotin, Saw palmetto, nutrafol), prescriptions (minoxidil, finasteride), hair-growth products, and the like, it can be hard to know what works, what's appropriate for you, and where to even begin.
🌱 During this episode, we dive into:
✨ The different types and causes of hair loss
✨ Important labs to discuss with your healthcare provider
✨ Supplements and commonly used hair-loss treatments
✨ Practical steps you can take to support healthier hair
Because when your hair starts changing, the answer shouldn't simply be, “Well, you're getting older.”
There may be an underlying reason—and something we can do about it.

What happens when a DPC clinician sees a problem affecting her patients and decides to create a better solution?
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Hope Jensen, MS, FNP-C, ARNP, MSCP, founder of With Hope Clinic and creator of Wandah, an innovative vaginal cream applicator designed to improve the experience of using vaginal estrogen.
Our conversation went beyond the applicator itself. We talked about how Direct Primary Care can create space for clinicians to think differently, pursue new opportunities, and develop solutions based on the real needs we see in our patients every day.
We also discussed:
✨ Hope’s journey into DPC and entrepreneurship
✨ Why vaginal estrogen matters in midlife women’s health
✨ Challenges with traditional vaginal cream application
✨ The story behind Wandah and the problem it was created to solve
✨ How innovation can help us improve the patient experience
This was such an inspiring conversation about women’s health, DPC, innovation, and what can happen when we allow ourselves to think beyond the traditional walls of healthcare.

We often hear conflicting messages about what we should or shouldn’t eat—but when it comes to nutrition, one size truly fits none.
I’m so excited for this week's podcast episode with Abby Johnson, MS, RD, a registered dietitian, speaker, performance nutrition expert, and founder of Harmony Nutrition.
In this episode, we’ll explore:
✨ Why a thorough nutrition assessment matters
✨ How nutrition influences virtually every physiological process in the body
✨ How individualized nutrition can support health, performance, and longevity
✨ Common nutrition truths and myths—and what the evidence actually says
✨ Why nutrition is about so much more than just calories and macros
This is going to be such a practical and empowering conversation about learning to nourish your body and your unique needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
Listen, learn, and please SHARE with someone who could benefit! So you don’t want to miss this one.

Supplements are one of the most common topics my patients ask about... and one of the most misunderstood.
Do you really need a multivitamin? What about vitamin D, magnesium, omega-3s, probiotics, creatine, collagen, CoQ10, or B12? Are they all necessary—or are some just expensive extras?
In this episode, I break down the science behind the most commonly used supplements, including:
✔️ Who may benefit
✔️ When to check your levels
✔️ How to choose safe, high-quality supplements
✔️ What to avoid
✔️ And when a supplement may not be necessary at all
Most importantly, we'll talk about the truth that every patient needs to hear:
Supplements are meant to supplement a healthy lifestyle—not replace it.
No pill can take the place of nutritious food, regular movement, quality sleep, stress management, and healthy daily habits. That's where true wellness begins.
If you've ever stood in the supplement aisle wondering what to buy—or have a cabinet full of vitamins you're not sure you even need—this episode is for you.
🎧 Listen today, and if you found it helpful, please share it with your family and friends. Together, let's replace confusion with confidence and make smarter, evidence-based decisions about our health.
Because you deserve to Live At Your Finest.

As we close out Women’s Month, I felt deeply led to record a special podcast episode—one that is personal, honest, and, I pray, empowering.
Midlife is a transition that every woman will experience… yet so many of us walk through it feeling confused, overwhelmed, or even questioning ourselves.
Let me remind you: you are not broken or crazy.
In this episode, I share my own journey—both as a physician and as a woman navigating midlife—and how that experience transformed not only my health, but how I care for my patients.
I also introduce what I call the Four A’s of Midlife:
• Awareness – understanding what’s happening in your body
• Acceptance – embracing this season without shame
• Affirmation – reminding yourself that this is a natural transition, not a failure
• Action – taking empowered steps toward feeling your best
My hope is that this conversation will leave you feeling seen, supported, and equipped.
✨ Please take a moment to watch, share with a friend, and help us normalize this conversation.
Let’s continue to support one another, ask better questions, and advocate for the care we deserve.
Cheers to understanding, embracing, and flourishing through midlife!
