Susan Hamilton shares with Mother Meghan how her personal cancer journey has changed her perspective and strengthened her faith. In learning to set her fears aside and recognize the signs that she is on the right path, she has found comfort in helping others who find themselves in similar circumstances.
Susan mentions a prayer from St. Francis De Sales that she shares with others who have been diagnosed with cancer, in hopes that they will find comfort and strength in it as she did:
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day.
He will either shield you from suffering, or give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace, then, put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations, and say continually: The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart has trusted in Him and I am helped. He is not only with me, but in me and I in Him.
