Everyone likes to be rewarded. Sometimes we forget that there is a reward for living faithfully during the tough, troublesome times...eternal life! Even Daniel heard this message!

What was once prophesied as future events might now be history, but there is still a lesson to be learned. Though he came from others, persecution had a purpose in the 'big picture.' What can we learn?

What if, as one writer has put it, "conflicts on earth reflect conflicts in the heavens"? Are you ready to join with the heavenly forces to stand strong in the face of evil?

What if? What if the main message of the 'seventy weeks' (490 years) is about a sevenfold multiplication of the 70 years of exile due to a failure to repent (Lev. 26:21)? What if... we haven't repented as we should?

Daniel was 'more than [a] conqueror' through all the trials and tribulations. Why? Because he utilized the main resources: God's Word and prayer.

What is it that brings you comfort? Think about this... I read that prophecy is not for our calendars, but to bring us comfort. God is still on the throne.

As is often the case, sometimes we miss the forest because we have focused on the trees. Daniel 7 is a chapter that steps back and provides hope because - beyond the predictions of chapter 2 - now God is pictured on the throne and the Kingdom of the Son of Man is established.

The meal for the lions was supposed to be Daniel, but God intervened. Why? Daniel was a devout, praying, trusting man who was a faultless servant of his employer as well. Where are you?

So often we wait until "the writing is on the wall." Pride most often brings about a fall. When warnings are given, examples have been provided, and the evidence is mounting up are you willing to change?

Sometimes our pride gets the best of us. As my grandfather used to say, "It might be time to get knocked down a peg or two." Such was the case for King Nebuchadnezzar. His head had gotten too big for his crown. So God affirmed his rule!
