To get the better of in a struggle or conflict; conquer; defeat: to overcome the enemy. An overcomer is defined as “someone who prevails.” The heart of the overcomer says, “I will rise above every hardship that I face with Jesus by my side.”Jesus Christ promised everlasting life in the Kingdom of God to "him who overcomes."Overcomers are those victorious ones who have learned how to master the flesh, prevail over the world and conquer the devil only through Christ’s Life in them.What is a Mosaic?A picture or pattern produced by arranging together small colored pieces of hard material, such as stone, tile, or glass.What is an Overcomer's Mosaic?It’s the gathering and development of a pattern produced in God’s Word --- by arranging together the lives and triumphs of people who were servants of God who overcame something, or who succeeded in rising above every hardship that they faced. Being an overcomer (so we can love as God desires) is what the Christian life is all about. It’s what we are called for, trained for and the purpose of our sanctification. Overcomers are the ones who will inherit the future kingdom, because they are able to produce “works of the Spirit” (works of Love) in their lives here and now.So let’s look at the individual pieces of this Overcomer’s Mosaic:A piece of Joseph who persevered in faith and ascended to the pinnacle of earthly powers, the shepherds who received the very exclusive birthday invitation and showed up to give glory, honor and praise to the baby Messiah, Mary -- the earthly mom of Jesus - who pondered and treasured her calling -- she counted the cost and it would cost her everything to give birth and mother the Son of God, Daniel who was so wise, so endowed, studious and capable of standing with full confidence in the court of the most powerful earthly king known to men.
