When nurse Danielle Slupesky fell into a life of numbing pain through work, alcohol, and prescription pills, she never imagined that her own near-death experience would awaken her to the one thing she’d been missing—compassion and connection. After a medical collapse left her septic, in kidney failure, and bleeding out on the table, Danielle remembers the moment her heart stopped and peace surrounded her: “I remembered… this is dying.
