  • EP 9. When He's No Longer the One...
When you get married, you think it's forever. You build a life together and function as one. The decisions and the sacrifices you make are for the greater good of the family. Over time, you expect your relationship to be nurtured and to strengthen. As for women, beyond motherhood, careers and business, we still need to feel womanly, sexy, needed and desired by our spouses. What are we to do when these feelings wane and the love and lust are no longer present? My guest, Lois Kahagi is a divorce and family law attorney in New Jersey. She represents her clients in Family Court on all family legal issues including custody, spousal support and domestic violence. In her own words, "my goal is to promote the swift resolution of family legal issues at the least financial and emotional cost." Prior to starting her practice in 2012, Ms. Kahagi completed a clerkship with the Honorable Lisa Vignuolo, of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County. Ms. Kahagi is Board Member of Women Aware, a domestic violence agency which provides safety and counseling services to victims of domestic violence in Middlesex County. She is Vice-President of Families and Communities Together (FACT) of Union County, an agency dedicated to meeting needs of the families with emotional, behavioral and mental health needs. • EP 8. Now, Not Some Day.
Women are often taught to be selfless, especially when they have children. I preach the opposite. I believe it is more important for women to make less sacrifices and, instead, to be more selfish. Prioritizing their own needs and desires will protect their happiness. My motto is to celebrate selfish-ism. Too often, women put their dreams on hold for others. I advise that they stop this now. Stop putting off what should be theirs today. Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, so pursuit of happiness, in the present, should always be the goal. Husbands and kids will be okay if they are not always the priority. However, moms will be disgruntled if their dreams aren't realized. What are your thoughts? • EP 7. The Thoughts and Words You Choose Shape Your Life. Speak with Intention.
Many women say they want more. They say they are meant for more. They say that they've put their lives on hold for others. However, when given the time and opportunity to do what they say they want, they fold. Why? Limiting beliefs can halt progress and prevent you from designing and living your next phase. If you visualize what you want and know where you want to go, then you can address what's holding you back. But, you need to know how these limiting beliefs were instilled, address them and release them before progress can be realized. My guest, Taisha Nurse, is a senior level corporate executive with expertise in Human Resources. She is a champion for women's advancement in the corporate sector and leads a Global Women's Network. She conducts coaching sessions with internal personnel and presents opportunities for them to dive deep into their subconscious minds to uncover the limiting beliefs that prevent the active pursuit of their dreams. She is also a certified coach with the International Coach Federation and a certified ThetaHealer®. Taisha is accepting private clients on a limited basis because she acknowledges that there are women who struggle with overcoming the lack of confidence and limiting beliefs that prevent them from thinking and acting boldly. Whoever said "age ain't nothing but a number" is full of crap. Because with that number, potentially comes a host of other unwanted things. This is why self care is so important. Self care are the buzz words of the moment, but we must all find what works for us. It's individually based. From at-home beauty regimens to spa visits, meditation to beauty sleep, downsizing friendships to growing relationships, the realm of self care is broad. Whatever you choose, commit to preserving your youth for as long as possible. The lack of self care can lead to premature aging and we don't want that. Let's delay the inevitable! This beauty episode encourages women to slow down and gives them permission to find what makes them feel more beautiful.
