“You’re not sore, Dad. You’re just getting stronger.” When my seven-year-old said that on the way out of the gym, it hit harder than the workout. What if the ache you hate is actually evidence that something is being rebuilt, not just in your body, but in your faith, your habits, and your courage?
Reflecting today where I almost didn’t show up, then tied that battle to the kind of temptation we face constantly. Matthew 4 isn’t distant history to me, it’s a mirror: the quiet pressure to skip the reps, dodge the conversation, turn your back, or choose comfort over calling. Ephesians 6:12 kept reappearing throughout the day, to name the fight for what it is and to remind you that standing firm is a skill you can train.
From there, I share what “communion of the Holy Spirit” looks like in my life, especially through running and music, and why I stopped using headphones to drown out the noise. I talk about rebuilding health after seasons of heavy medication and weight gain, the role of community and conversations in daily encouragement, and why grief for my father changed how I think about endurance and stewardship. We land in John 16:8 with a direct question: what is God convicting you of right now, whether sin, righteousness, or judgment, and what would one honest next step look like?
If you want Christian encouragement, faith and fitness motivation, spiritual discipline you can practice today, and a reminder that reps change you, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find it.

You can spend years asking for the right break, the right resource, the right person, the right “alms” and still feel stuck at the gate. Opening a devotional from Walk In The Holy Spirit by Vladimir Savchuk (On YouVersion) and let one line flip the script: shift your focus from the power of God to the presence of the Holy Spirit. If you already belong to Jesus, you’re not waiting for a distant upgrade. You’re learning how to walk. (Just like starting the reps to rebuild muscle...time or even weight loss; or like learning how to ride a bike, play an instrument, learning how to track ANY Metric!)
Launching out with Acts 3 and the healing at the Beautiful Gate, where Peter and John refuse to pretend they have what they don’t: “Silver and gold I do not have.” Then they offer what they do have, lift the man up, and he walks, leaps, and praises God. Getting real about why that matters for real life, when finances are still tight, circumstances are still complicated, and yet worship and momentum can begin anyway. The biggest takeaway is simple and confronting: what you think you need might be a handout, but what you truly need is to get to steppin' with a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
If that's not enough, Nicholas gets personal about seasons of feeling defeated, physically and mentally sidelined, and how the Holy Spirit can patiently bring you back step by step, turning your story into “Ebenezer stones” of faithfulness. If you’re trying to rebuild, discern your gifts, or grow in spiritual maturity, this is practical Christian encouragement with a clear next step. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs hope, leave a review, and tell us: where do you need to start walking today?

Your results aren’t random. They’re built from reps and proximity, the two forces that quietly decide whether you plateau or level up. Starting with a simple question from the world of music instruction: how often do you actually need coaching to get decent? Some students thrive with weekly private lessons...I started here, some need daily guidance, and others can only check in once a month at most. That schedule isn’t just about music, it’s a blueprint for growth.
From there, connecting the same idea to fitness and personal training: you can watch all the YouTube tutorials you want, but consistent feedback is what fixes form, locks in proper movement, and keeps you honest. Taking the “reps” concept into personal finance with a direct challenge: how often are you checking your money, and what rhythm would reduce stress while improving financial literacy and decision-making?
Widening the lens to faith and community involvement, Nicholas shares a practical coaching story from running: when a coach runs with you, your mind stops spiraling and your attention snaps to breathing, gait, stride, and pace, which can turn failure into passing and even excelling. Wrapping up by applying all to the five Fs: fun, fitness, finance, faith, and family, with a clear reminder that showing up for family can start small and still be real. If you want a better life, pick the area, raise the reps, and get closer to the right people. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review with the one area you’re upgrading next.
