Everyone loves a love story with a happy ending. Ruth 4 gives us a happily ever after moment that ends up impacting all of human history. Through the lineage of Boaz and Ruth, we see that God was working His redemption plan to provide salvation to all of humanity.

The third ingredient of every good love story is the Declaration of Love. In chapter 3 of Ruth, we see an unconventional marriage proposal which teaches us the importance of coming to Jesus for redemption.

Every good love story needs that memorable moment when the love interests meet. It's that moment when you can just tell that there are forces at work pushing these two together. In Ruth 2, we see a meet-cute which takes place in a barley field between a wealthy land-owner and a homeless refugee. This chance meeting shows us that how God is always working toward the redemption of humanity.

Every good love story has some of the same ingredients. Conflicted people are brought together by circumstances beyond their control and are redeemed by their love which changes everything. The book of Ruth is a love story for the ages. In chapter 1, we see the tragic plight for three widows, but we also see how God, the lover of all humanity is working in the background to redeem them.

Not everything in life can be solved with brute force and strength. Many people prefer to use a shotgun approach to life (aiming everywhere hoping something will stick). Scripture tells us that success is better approached like an archer who uses precision focus and finesse. In this message, we see Paul's aim in life was to know Christ, to be more like Jesus and to allow Christ to use Him in the way He intended.
