Voices in the Family

Living in Poverty

Listen Later

Last month, Nobel Prize winner Angus Deacon brought attention to poverty. And, during his visit Pope Francis spoke out about rampant capitalism and poverty. But, while theory and rhetoric are an important conversation, we’d like to put a face and voice on poverty in the Delaware Valley. Sr. Mary Scullion, executive director of Project Home has been a leading advocate for the homeless – many of whom are families and children. We also speak with Dr. Lawrence Real of DBHIDS about the physical and mental effects that are directly related to the effects of living in poverty.
