Luke 7:1-30 tells the story of two remarkable encounters with Jesus. The first is with a Roman centurion, a man of great power and authority, who comes to Jesus seeking healing for his beloved servant. The second is with John the Baptist, who sends messengers to ask Jesus if he is the Messiah.
Through these encounters, we see Jesus' power and compassion on full display. He heals the centurion's servant from a distance, showing that nothing is impossible for him. He also affirms John's role as a prophet and the one who prepares the way for him.
But this passage also challenges us to examine our own faith. Are we like the centurion, who trusts Jesus' authority and power even from a distance? Or are we like the people of Israel, who struggle to recognize and accept the Messiah in their midst?
In today's episode, Pastor David Maestas digs into the themes of faith, power, and authority in the life of Jesus. Let us discover how we can deepen our own faith and trust in the one who has the power to heal and save.
